I bought these a couple years ago and didn’t think much of them other then for looks well today I found out they work way better then I thought they could. I was hit right at in the middle of my drivers side door and without the step there the damage would have been way worse the steps saved both the drivers door and the extended cab door and as you can see the car that hit me was going fast enough to break the rear rim. I didn’t even realize the person hit me there cause I got out and in the truck a couple times before i realized the step was pushed in. I attached them to the body with self tapping screws and the lower bolt holes I drilled anb bolts to the pinch weld the same way the newer factory GM ones are attached

The biggest reason I bought this is because the package weight seemed extremely low. But when I received the package it was that light. No added weight but very sturdy.

These are Gonna be great steps but unknown durability offroad... being that its a full size truck and im not in high school they will serve their purpose well. They are very well built with some ok welds, only complaint is the gauge of the square tubing should be a bit thicker.

They look great, and if you weight less than like 300 pounds, then it'll get you in and out of your truck... But it's super thin metal and I don't fully trust it to hold more than 1 person at a time, and again, nobody over 300lbs.Pretty easy to install, helpful to have a second person holding it while you bolt it on... I'll warn you now, you have to drill into the body of the truck if you have a 2006 Chevy Silverado extended cab.

these actually fit in great you have to drill them in.

Does not install sturdy enough to step on you need a step that installs to the frame with the body mounts

The steps are much lighter than I had expected and look really well made. The instructions weren’t very detailed as to where I needed to drill holes for the step mounts. Being a Diesel Mechanic made it easier for me to pick the spots they needed to be. Other than that the install was a breeze. Keep in mind that is kit is much easier to install on the newer Chevy’s and GMC’s, as there are already holes for the step mounts. I would definitely recommend these to anyone that wants some nice side steps and also wants to save the side of there truck from rock damage, if you take it off road.Only reason I am giving it 4 stars was because of the instructions not being very detailed for my specific truck.
