A solid and fun introduction to the Episcopal Church.
This book is very 'user-friendly' in that it gives a basic introduction to the Church, hitting all the important points without getting lost in minutiae. If this is used for an 'inquirer's'/confirmation class, the clever pastor will augment with other material as needed or as inquirer's inquire!

Answers the basics, which is very important.
I advocate this book "Those Episkopols" by the Rev. Dennis Maynard be issued to every member and interested parties of the Church. It answers basic important questions about our Episcopal Church such as how we worship (it's supposed to be "boring"), how we think (we must use reason in order to understand God's creation), how we treat the Bible (divine inspiration, not divine dictation), how we live (dogmas are silly; when we get to heaven, Jesus is probably not going to ask us what (mostly man-made) rules we followed, but whether we loved him and one another), and how we are saved (not something that just happens; it is an ongoing process through our lives), etc.The book provides a good starting point to becoming a thoughtful, knowledgeable Christian and member of the Church. The reader should continue their studies and actions by beginning a study of the Bible, asking questions of their fellow man, doing good works, and most importantly THINKING.An easy and quick read (1 hour), I marked up my book with tons of highlighter and am now more confident when inquiring friends and strangers ask me about my faith and practice.

Short, fun, just slightly outdated
This book provides a short, and sometimes humorous, explanation of who Episcopalians are as a people. It's especially helpful for anyone who recently joined the church or is thinking of joining the church from another denomination. It was mentioned, however, by a priest who borrowed this, that some of the content and examples are a little outdated, despite the book's more recent revisions.

GREAT INTRO.
This is a fine, short, entertaining summary of Anglican ethos and Episcopal practices. In a very readable form, the author talks about what the Episcopal Church is and what it is not. These points are essential in exploring an expression of Christianity that is genuine, based in nature, oriented to helping people, and entirely aware of the awe and majesty of God. This should be on the shelf in every church library with some extra copies lying around to give to those who wish to go beyond the narrow and dissatisfying Protestantism that currently brays so loudly in our society.

Best book on the Topic
"Those Episkopols" is without question the best non-technical introduction to the Episcopal Church that I've read. It is light and witty, but presents a wealth of information that will be of interest to both the those exploring the Episcopal Church as possibly the church for them and also long-standing members of the Church. I've been a member of the Episcopal Church for 45 years and still found "Those Episkopols" to be a valuable addition to my library. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Simple, love centered message..refreshing!
Please do read this if you have any curiosity about the Episcopal/Anglican church. It's written in a way that is easy to understand and not complex religious terms. This has introduced me to the Episcopal church in a way that talks to me as a person not a scholar or historian. The beliefs of the church is love centered and Dr. Maynard reveals that very simply.
