I can't believe that I didn't purchase a fat separator sooner! This gadget has made my life so much easier. It is extremely functional, holds the right amount and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I appreciate that is is dishwasher safe, too.I looked as several different fat separators on Amazon before choosing this Amco model and I am very happy with my choice. It is very well made of sturdy plastic and a good value for the money compared to similar products I looked at.

This was a big help for me this past Thanksgiving making gravy. I like that I have a way to separate the drippings and the fat. I am able to pour the drippings from the bottom when I need it and to add some fat from the spout. I also like the top lit, which does come off. It can stop bigger pieces from draining into the container. With the lid able to come off, it makes for cleaning the container very easy. This truly is a wonderful product that I needed! I was looking for a small pitcher style with a pour spout. Decided to give this a shot. The measurements are printed on, fine for now but I know with time they will scrub off. This is very similar to a pancake dispenser but has a better seal around the valve to keep the liquid in. The screen on top is nice to catch the big pieces, but if there are many it will choke up and need to be cleaned before you get the liquid in. The bottom is completely flat so when you get to the last 1/4 cup or so it doesn't separate as well. It serves its purpose well, but not a long living kitchen tool.

Thought a grease separator was a grease separator so I bought 2 of these to use to separate au jus from oils when cooking bbq.On the inaugural use, made the first plate and the product worked as intended. Before I could make the second plate and dispense au jus, the retainer that holds the bottom seal closed failed and left me with a huge mess all over the counter tops and no au jus for my brisket. I wasn’t even handling the unit, it failed while just sitting on the counter untouched.Fortunately I only opened the package on 1 of the 2 I purchased, the other will be returned first thing.

This is a great product

The media could not be loaded. "I find this product useful in removing fat from my soups and gravies. When the liquid starts to cool down, I pour it over the top of the separator that has holes in it to keep any unwanted pieces from going into my gravy or soup. Once the liquids have separated, I pull the handle together, and the part of the liquid without the fat is released into a container of my choice. I stop pulling the handle when I get close to the fat so it doesn't enter the separated liquid. This is the easiest fat separator I have ever used, and I would purchase it again if I ever needed to."

This works perfectly and is priced very reasonably. I use this when I make pulled pork on the smoker and it does exactly what I need it to do. I have bought one for a friend and recommended this to others.

I really like the design on this item. I have mild arthritis in my thumbs. The others I have seen have a little offset tab that needs to be held open with yourthumb! When I saw this one that lets you slip your hand between the handle and the container so you can squeeze the lever while holding the unit was a A+ for me. Easy to clean and use.
