Aris Allen is known for making vintage style swing dance shoes and reproduction models that are more authentic equipment for dancing swing than ordinary ballroom shoes are. Their philosophy being that your dancing will look more authentic if you wear the same style of shoes the inventors of the dance were wearing. This style, like the original it was copied from, has a round toe. The heel is approximately 3" and the insole is quite thick and squishy. Most women know which two sizes they fit best (like 6.5 & 7 or 8 & 8.5). To figure out which size you'll fit in these: Narrow to Average width = you'll probably wear the larger of the two sizes you usually fit. Wide width = you'll probably fit one half size larger than the two sizes you usually fit (and because it is a round toed shoe, once in a while one whole size larger than your normal size). We've seen women with very wide feet look absolutely delicious in this model.

Cute & Comfortable
These are super cute and comfortable. I felt they were a little small, but due to the heel height are better on the smaller side- no room for my foot to slide. These are a higher heel than I'm used to, but have no problem wearing them up to 6 hours.

Pretty but size is not accurate
Shoes are really pretty as in the picture, but sizes are too small... my size is 6 1/2, I ordered a 7 according to other reviews... but it was not enough... now I'm returning them... as I cannot exchange them (due to Amazon policy - indicated by vendor) I won't buy a new pair to avoid paying Canadian customs again.

Great shoes and very comfortable
Even though these have a little higher heel than I prefer, they are so comfortable! And even though they are vintage, I can wear them with anything. Even though the description says "black and silver" I thought from the picture that they were black and white. But the accents around the shoe ARE SILVER. But the silver is not so bold that it still looks very classy.

Order at least one size bigger than the usual
I do like the shoe, very beautiful but they size was way off. I ordered a 9 and when tried on, they felt like an 8 maybe 7.5. I had to return them due to sizing not for anything else. Shoe is nice but couldn't wear. I would have liked another size but by the time I ordered again with shipping charge and not to mention I already paid shipping once and again to return, I did not want to pay a 3rd time, so just was put off in getting another size. I would recommend going a whole size bigger than you normally wear at least. My last order from this company was small too, have to use hose for shoe to wear since I didn't want to return those either.

Cute shoe!
These are really cute but I had several issues. the toe part of the shoe is kinda round - like on top of my toes. It was a bit narrow on the exterior sides of my toes. And, it was a bit short. And, the heal was a bit too tall. I was hoping to wear these to rockabilly gatherings and dances but not with this height. I thought by ordering "dance" shoes they would have been comfy but these weren't, maybe they needed breaking in.I normally wear a size 10, maybe a size 10.5 would have been better.
