Q: Can it handle a 25lb. cat?

I just put 3 of our cats on it and made them play with mice. 14+16+7lb. The top of the tower sways a bit, which doesn't bother us, but it may bother you. Also if you have a huge 25lb. cat you should note that openings on shelves are just under 9" wide and 10.5" high. Our Maine coon and Ragdoll fit through fine, but not sure a 25lb. cat would... Our big cats are not full grown yet, I suppose I could report back in 2 years :)

Q: This seems a bit too expensive for Plywood and veneer. It is more attractive than the average cat tree, but other than that what justifies the cost?

It's pricey, and I thought it over carefully before I took the chance. It was definitely worth it. We've had ours for about six years now, and it looks brand new. I have no other cat tree that still looks good after one year, much less six. Plus, as others have commented, it's very attractive. There's no mess around it, such as bits of carpet pulled off; we haven't even needed to place the carpeted pads. And I love the look on my cat's face as she looks down on me from the top shelf--where she actually fits.

Q: how big is the sisal scratching pad

The scratching pad is mounted vertically on the stand and is 8.75" wide and 20" tall.

Q: Is this 20 x 20 left to right and front to back including the three perch shelves? Any info on final footprint including the top would be great! Thx

The 20"x20" is just the base. The two intermediate shelves are 8"x23".The top (curved) shelf is 10" wide on one half and 20" wide on the other half (aligning with the base below); and its overall length is 22".And, to get exact about the 20"x20"...this is nominal, where the actual dimensions are 19-5/8"x19-5/8".Hope this helps!
