punchy, loud and small. lots of features for the price
Just got this. Great amp. Loud, punchy sound. 3 band Eq, but with a sweepable mid, so you can choose which frequencies the mid knob conrols. So, actually lots of Eq control. Good, adjustable compressor. Enhance effect - like a bass boost. Also, the amp has xlr out for connecting to the house pa and a separate tuner out, in case your tuner doesn't have a pass through. Oh, and it also has an effects send and return. I play mainly rock, and punk, but it works well with slap too. Was a bit concerned that 2 x 10s would be lacking in bass, but this has good bottom end. Would definitely recommend, and seems to be available on a few half price deals in the UK.

garbage
The xlr out died on me after about six months, and now the amp started making a really obnoxious buzzing sound. When I bought it the price was 499.99. My former teacher has used and endorsed Eden for years and he raved about them. I was happy with the sound, it was great, but I need a reliable amp since I play at least three gigs a week. It's sad that all of these companies are manufacturing their products in China, as I think it is hurting their quality.

Sorta like a base model Honda w/no A/C or radio...
We bought one of these for our large church hall. It replaced my personal gig rig (Ashdown EVO II 500 and Avatar 4 ohm 12'' cabinet) which we'd been using for a year. Here are our thoughts (two bass players with 5-strings that regularly use it for contemporary Christian worship music) after a couple weeks:Tone: The EQ is flexible and the on-board compressor and Enhance knobs are helpful in dialing in some thickness for our five-strings, though I wouldn't call it super warm. We already miss the thump of the other amp. 180 watts and 2x10s just don't have the booty of 500 watts and a 12" ported driver. That said, we intentionally bought this combo to reduce stage presence and make it easier on the sound guys, so we definitely got that.Features: The 1/4" headphone jack disconnects the other outputs. Handy if we want to noodle around on parts during rehearsal, but it won't work as a headphone monitor. Likewise, there's a 1/8th" iPod input jack to help with practice. My rig had neither. Like the Ashdown, this has an XLR-out to send a signal to the board. This amp is dead quiet compared to my old Ashdown so that's another plus for the sound guys. It's not too heavy, but there are side carry pockets instead of handles, which limits carrying options.Bugs: The picture on this ad doesn't reflect reality. The drivers we received have cones attached rather than a separate horn for mid-treble. Our sound guys noted this really makes the amp cut through. I noticed that it is much more directional too. You'll have to be aware of where you point this Eden compared to other bass amps that are more sub-woofer like and enveloping. (I'm already wondering if we should swap these drivers out for a pair of DeltaLight 10's...) Also, the compressor doesn't come with an LED or other indicator to tell you when you're clipping. Really? That's probably a $10 mod, and unsat given that Eden already has this on their other similarly-priced amps/heads.Bottom line: This is sort of like one of those stripped down, base-model Honda CIVICs. Yeah, it's an Eden, but... For $500 we had to stretch to give this 3 stars. If it develops any problems we'll send it back for something else. If you're shopping for a combo amp we suggest that you A/B this against other ones in your price range. It's only worth the money if it meets your specific needs (aka makes your sound guys happy).
