It’s high quality and very warm, it might seem a bit bulky if you order a size up as I did but it’s definitely good quality for the money

So I've used a Kent version of this jacked for several years and it's decent. But the fabric is thin and getting tattered. This Mustang is better constructed of heavier fabric and the foam seems more flexible, though that could be partially an age issue. Overall as with other Mustang products, this was worth the upcharge.Pro Tip: the hood from the Kent fits the mustang except for the snaps. I added a second row of mustang compatible female snaps to the Kent hood and saved $80.

I use this for winter fishing

I'm a marine mammal researcher and literally everybody in my field uses these Mustang "float coats". It's basically a life vest and a good outdoor jacket combined into one, so that you don't need to wear a jacket AND a life vest. The jacket is lined with thick flotation foam and it has an interior waist belt, so it functions as personal floatation gear if you go overboard. Plus it's comfortable and WARM (the foam lining makes it warm and really cuts the wind). Just the ticket for when you're shivering on the bow for hours searching for whale! (or fishing, or whatever). I bought 2 new for me & my assistant in summer 2013 and I really like the new model: Wrist cuffs are now a nice comfy neoprene, I like the reflective tape (that's new), the little loops on the shoulders are new (I never used them but can imagine you could clip binocular straps or whatever to them), and there's enough pockets.There's also a longer version that comes to mid-thigh and is warmer, but the "bomber style" is better if you're on a small boat and need to clamber around things or climb ladders.

Life jackets suck as it is. Especially when you already have a coat on and are trying to work.This takes care of that problem. Fits well and is quite warm as well.

I have worked on vessels for almost 25 years full time as an enforcement officer and now as a commercial tour boat captain. I am on my second jacket as I wore my first one out.These Jackets are warm and comfortable. I have an inflatable PFD and a mustang exposure suit and quality is outstanding. Highly recommend Mustangs Line as the quality is superb and their equipment will last for years if properly cared for and could SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!!!

Very nice cold weather pfd. I fish during the winter and needed a pfd that will protect me in cold water.
