Triolet

Looking for a board games which could be played by 2 or 3 people, I came across Triolet. The game consists of a board which looks very Scrabble like, with "double points" and "Treble points" squares, 4 tile racks and lots of number tiles. The object of the game is to score the most points by laying up to 3 tiles in crossword formation to add up to 15. Points can be gained in two directions and bonus points can be gained if you can lay your 3 tiles in one go.With Scrabble you need a good dictionary in your head but Triolet just requires you to be able to add up to 15. This means it seems to be easy to play but, after a few games, you realise there is a lot of strategy involved. A single game takes about half an hour.I thoroughly recommend the game, both educational and recreational. Children and adults can play together but children might find more tricky to get high points; perhaps they could start with, say, 50 or 100 points to get them going.

Simple enough for my 12 year old grandson to continually beat all the adults yet intriguing enough to keep everyone amused. Every game is different and no questions to run out of.

We've had hours of fun with this game as all ages can play this. It can be very tactical as to where you place your tiles. A really good alternative to Scrabble. If you like Triominos, you'll love this.

Brilliant game, way better than scrabble! no arguing over whether a number exists like you have over words in scrabble. Makes you use the mind for some strategic and spatial thinking!

This is a great game for the whole family to play. For people good at maths it provides the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and for people who are sick of word games or general knowledge games it makes a lovely change.

I bought this game for my daughter as part of her Christmas present, and both she and my granddaughter really enjoy playing it. It arrived promptly and was an excellent buy.
