Oneida 2865020BL20 Flight 20 Piece Everyday Flatware Set, Service For 4

Moving into a new apartment was an excuse to retire the ancient, cheap, and mismatched plate collection and cutlery set that my parents handed down to me when I first moved out - back in the Clinton years. I first tried another brand here on Amazon. They simply weren't acceptable. Not naming it here, but feel free to dig for my review on it for details if you want.So...I spent a few extra bucks, while accepting a few extra pieces in the total count, and tried this. Could not be more pleased. This one is the perfect intersection (for me, anyway) of price point and quality. The pieces are obviously going to last for a few decades, but aren't ridiculously expensive. To fill the gaps, I picked up the Oneida steak knife set, and a bread knife while I was at it. Same opinion of them. Even better, while those have a "hand wash only" note because of their more complicated assembly, I completely forgot about it until after using them a dozen times and just tossing them in the dishwasher. Still in perfect condition. There's no guarantees, obviously - detergent brands will have an effect, and the water in this corner of Georgia is just about the softest and clearest on the planet - but it's worth mentioning.You can't go wrong here.

I paid about $19 for this little set on sale. I wanted to add some extra flatware for quick access in the kitchen and this fits the bill perfectly. They're lightweight but attractive, definitely suitable for the kitchen table but not for anything more formal. I see them as a bargain.

These are some of my favorite forks and spoons in my kitchen drawer! Just the right sizes, shapes, and weight - they feel good in the hand.

Packaging could have been nicer but it will do. Good set.

Look and feel nice

Over time, as it happens, some of my silverware got lost/damaged. This was a pefect replacement of the "Flight" style which I love.My cutlery drawer is now full up on everything I need.

I've had this "Flight" series style from Oneida since the mid 1990s and have been very happy with them...bought originally from Eddie Bauer. They have been solid, long-lasting, and a classy set for decades. I bought this new set off of Amazon from the Oneida store just in March 2025 to increase our silverware quantity.While the new set looks identical to the originals in finish, color, style, and design, they don't feel as solid or beefy as the originals...they feel lighter and kind of flimsy to the touch. I weighed the old and the new using a very sensitive scale (down to the tenth of an ounce) and found them to be identical in weight which was surprising. With further examination, I noticed that the edges are not as round or smooth as the originals. The edges feel "sharper" rather than smoother, rendering them not as pleasant or comfortable to hold between your fingers. This was mostly the case with the forks and spoons, but not the knives.The quality forced me to give these a 3-star rating only.
