I've been playing this for a couple of weeks now ...
I've been playing this for a couple of weeks now - This thing is a blast to play. Never played a reed instrument before. Took me only a couple of hours to get some notes going. After about 4 sessions, i was getting the hang of it. Now, I am starting to get it to talk to me - this thing has so much expression available - way more than I expected. Get a microphone and set up some reverb! I've been using Band-In-A-Box and have been jamming to slow jazz, blues, country. Need to work on getting my blue notes. Note: I accidentally ordered Alto Reeds - Wrong they won't work...Erik mentioned only Tenor 1.5 strength. The Tenor 1.5 strength reeds will give full control over your sound...intonation, growling, soft, loud hard, barking - this thing is so expressive - ain't nothing it can't do :>) Got one of his Penny Whistles in "D" and that thing is sure expressive as well.

Craftsmanship Extrodinaire!
Beautifully made instrument! Packaging was excellent. My husband played clarinet and sax in a band during the 60s and know how much he loved to play. Eric is a true artist. Truly a remarkable piece of workmanship w an amazing sound. This is the one to buy. The price is worth saving for. The wait would be well worth it. Hand written directions make it personal and 2 hour DVD shows Eric is serious about his work and man dedicated to music and his craft.

The ATS range of instruments are VERY well made and well worth checking out
The All Terrain Sax range (of which there are 4 tunings) are exceptionally well made and playable.I have the Tenor (G Major) so will try to upload a full review for that instrument together with some photos.

This is a quality product.
Erik the flute maker makes a real quality and concert tuned wind musical instrument. He deserved 5 stars review for his work. The packaging is amazing and he puts extra time in packing up the item nicely before he ship it to his customers. Please don't miss to watch his youtube videos. He is so hilarious and inspiring.
