Released from prison, Rambo returns to Vietnam to find priosners of war. Betrayed and captured, he escapes, rescues a fellow soldier, and returns home in triumph. Review: My all-time favorite Rambo movie and one of y favorite movies ever! - Best Rambo movie yet! Rambo First Blood Part II is even more action packed than the first movie that expands on the Rambo and Trautman characters. The supporting characters are great (Co, Murdock, the Russian military leader, etc.) and add to the awesomeness of the movie. The movie takes place 3 years after First Blood when Rambo is in Prison, Trautman brings him out to find P.O.W.s in Vietnam. From there, the action builds up, right from when Rambo gets stuck on the plane. The character development is great and you feel really sad for Co and Rambo when Co dies. The Russians and Vietnamese are great. Trautman is fantastic once again. Murdock and his crew are good. This movie also starts off the "one-man army" idea when Rambo single-handedly takes out the entire Russian and Vietnamese military there with a little help, but he does most of the work. There are also many great quotes from the movie as well, such as: "Murdock. Murdock, I'm coming to get you.", "You know there's more men out there, you know where they are. Find them, or I'll find you.", "How will you live?" "Day by day.", "What you call Hell, he calls home.", "I'm expendable.", and many other great quotes. The soundtrack is epic and heroic sounding. Rambo also extends his killing methods, my favorite kill from the movies being the one where he hides in the mud and strikes from behind. Another cool kill is when he pulls the guy into the rocks. In the end, the soundtrack, Rambo's heroism, the ending saving the P.O.W.s, and Rambo's speech: "I want what they want, and what every other guy who came over here, who spilled his guts, and gave everything he had wants, for our country to love us, as much as we love it. That's what I want.", and many other reasons, give this movie a very patriotic feel to it. It's my favorite '80s action movie and one of my favorite movies ever that I can watch all the time and never get bored of it. I recommend anyone to buy Rambo First Blood Part II, because it gives you the feeling of who the character is. When it's over, you can't help feeling patriotic. The movie is very re-watchable and entertaining and I highly recommend it! Review: Blood - Good movie

Rambo Unleashed
The second movie opens with everyone's favorite tortured war hero in prison due to the rampage he went on last time. At the onset he is visited by Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna), who offers him a job in exchange for a possible pardon. Upon learning he will be sent into Vietnam to search for POWs still being held prisoner by the Viet Cong, Rambo readily agrees to the mission. From there he is flown to a base near the Vietnamese border and meets with Murdoch (the ever-surly Charles Napier), the man in charge of the operation. After a harrowing plane ride, he drops into enemy territory to make contact with Co (Julia Nickson), and as you probably know, the rest is history. Rambo proceeds to butcher every enemy in sight in his relentless war on oppression and becomes an iconic action hero. If First Blood created Rambo, than Part II unleashed him. This movie, along with Rambo III, is what people usually think of when they think of Rambo. From here on out he is an unstoppable killing machine--shooting, stabbing and exploding America's enemies. Beneath it all, the tortured soul from First Blood is alive and well, though less apparent since he once again has a purpose. I like the part where he explains to Co what it means to be expendable, and later she declares to him, "You are not expendable." This is the only Rambo movie to feature a love interest. This movie ties with Rambo III for my second favorite of the series behind First Blood. I prefer the first one since it has such a strong focus on character development. Still, these movies are all enjoyable since in each one you get to see a different side of John Rambo. And, of course, each one delivers on his immortal promise: "I'll give you a war you won't believe."

"Rambo: First Blood Part 2" (1985) is a violent action film, written by Sylvester Stallone and James Cameron. Here, Stallone reprises his role as John Rambo, an ex-special forces Vietnam veteran who's suffering from post-traumatic stress as a consequence of the War. This film is a sequel to the original 'First Blood' movie (based on the bestselling novel by David Morrell), and it's set a few years after the events depicted in that earlier film (which ended with Rambo being detained by the authorities, following the mayhem he caused after going on the run from the police) . This second instalment in the movie series opens with Rambo being released from prison - on the condition that he undertakes a covert mission for the CIA. He's tasked with secretly entering Vietnam and taking photos of any remaining American POW's at an old (supposedly abandoned) camp. Rambo agrees - but isn't satisfied with photos. He finds POW's and rescues one ... only the CIA don't like this eventuality, and it's decided to leave Rambo behind enemy lines. Rambo's captured and tortured. Yet he manages to escape, battles the Vietnam soldiers (and the Soviet ones also stationed there), rescues the POW's and then flies to an American base across the border. For its time, this was an intense action movie - and even today (over 30 years later) the action sequences hold up. Rambo is depicted as, quite literally, a one-man army - capable of enduring horrendous tortures, refusing to break, and always ready to fight back. When enraged, he's unstoppable. This is one of the most popular of Stallone's films. Okay, its plot is fairly simple and straightforward. Yet this movie was a defining element in 1980's Western popular culture. If you're a fan of action films, I thoroughly recommend it. It helps to have watched "First Blood", but that isn't essential. This Blu-ray edition presents very good video and audio quality - but, unfortunately, there are few extras. Just to say, a Blu-ray box set of all four Rambo films is available.
