Really good resource.
Really good resource...not for the first time builder though. A lot of "graduate level" stuff and a lot of info that really only pertains to racing. That being said, a discerning reader will still be able to pick out pertinent info to help them with their build. Glad I bought it

Excellent info for inline 6 cyl builders, street or race
I am very pleased with the book, it delivered just the things promised and what I was looking for. This is not a basic rebuild book, for that you should get a different book. This one goes beyond rebuilding, into the high performance modification realm. Gives you different recipes for different grades of power mods, from mild dtreet to race, and even turbocharging which was very useful for me. It tells you the pitfalls and weak spots and what to do about them to make your engine last. Worth every penny.

Good information
Really nice and well thought out book. Unfortunately though it made me realize how much more expensive and involved it is to build a six for power as opposed to just getting a built 350 or 454. If I ever do build a six though it tells you what you do and don't need and where you should invest money into depending on what you want whether it's reliability or power for drag or for endurance racing. From exhaust setups (it's more complex for this engine than you think) to custom cylinder head blueprints. Your only limit is your budget. Like it says in the book though... the only thing that can beat cubic inches is cubic money so you want to commit to your i6 before buying it.

The definitive GM inline 6 book.
Outstanding!Very detailed concise text with useful pictures and easy to read. The author is an expert and collaborates with other very well known builders and racers who have been there and are the authority on these wonderful engines.

Should be required reading for an Inliner
Recieved in good order about 4 days before I expected it. I also have the 1st edition; the 2nd has about 65 more pages, with most of those concerning heads and manifolds. Lots of excellent information, mostly concerned with drag racing applications. Several build profiles of notable cars and combinations are included. I should've bought it a couple years ago but dithered. It's worth every penny and is helping me set up the 250 in my IHC pickup. If you've wondered about it, buy it...you won't be disappointed!
