After 3 days I believe...the pain along the gum line has disappeared....for maybe 2 1/2 weeks the gum line hurt when flossing even when using that CVS brand of floss pics where the string is a flat soft material (so as not to cut the gum line while using these soft floss picks...the pain was still there but not as much.... until using this rinse....take my word after a few days of sloshing a half in the top ( not a full cap less you have a mouth like an e to elephant.,.. seriously if you use a full cap you can't make use of this rinse (side to side then spit) no no, slosh a few minutes while your getting ready for work, vacuuming etc.......Excellant product..... COLGATE GUM PROTECT works with this rinse as well...try these..I betcha'.
