This works well on flat surfaces, and it gathers room light to itself, so if the light isn't quite right, it still makes the object visible.I like the non-focus feature of this dome. Set a coin on the table, place the dome on top, it is in focus for everyone that looks at it. Dim room light? It's okay! You can still read the map, with this magnifier. Sized to fit the hand easily, and when it is dirty, just clean it with the included pouch. Personally, I would prefer a polishing cloth that is not exposed to dust and dirt, though.This item really works. I need a magnifier for coins and maps. I find a handheld glass sometimes won't focus for me now. These take the focus issue away.I recommend these to anyone trying to collect stamps and coins. They are also great for reading a map. I like them enough to have purchased two already. I wanted one at each of my daughters houses, so when I visit, I can help the grandchildren with their coin collecting.

This is the best magnifier I have owned. I have an eye condition that is unique to others in my family and they do not like this magnifier as much but I own a 4" one for the kitchen, a 4" one for the living room, a 4" one for next to my bed, a 4" one at work, and this one for my car that I take into shops with me!

This works fine. I have a different one that doesn't have a domed bottom like this one and looking through seems sharper.But this works well and will even magnify a little more when you pull it away from the paper like a traditional magni fire.I still prefer the flat bottom one because you can place it against anything like a prescription bottle.

This product arrived on time and for the price was an excelent buy I bought two for christmas gifts for my aging parents this magnifier will fit in my moms purse and allows her too read menus and price tags at stores also she has a hard time with checks and now she has this product with her light cheap a good one for her small yet powerfull you can just drag it across the paper.

It does a great job, is a good weight but I wish it were bigger and not round. It would be great to have it that weight and magnification but 4-5 inches long to look at 2-3 lines of text at a time.

Works wonderfully except this one is too small. I didn't realize how small it would be and should have gotten the larger size. But magnification wise and clarity, it's great.

Constantly searching for loupes and magnifiers. This is a nice little tool at an arm's reach. Received well as tokens of appreciation from employees as well.
