A very good deal.
A good general purpose chef knife at a ridiculously low price. Yugen claims to use 9cr18mov in this knife and if so, this deal is even better. 9cr18mov is a high end Chinese stainless that compares to Japanese 440c and other quality ss like AUS8 and VG10. My VG10 knife is way more expensive and may be slightly more durable and hold an edge longer, but I can't tell much of a difference in actual use vs the Yugen knife.The only negative with this chef knife is that the grind is uneven from side to side on the one I received. The knife is still extremely sharp, but someone did an uneven job on the finish edge grind. I'll fix this with a stone.

This is very good knife, made of premium stainless steel, and well made. It is well worth the money (below $50 at the moment).I came to know the steel from the pocket knife community. The blades made of 9Cr18Mov steel are reviewed and tested by different users, the concensus is that it is indeed a very good stainless steel for knife blades. It's been more than a month since I got this knife. After all the use (and abuse), it is still sharp as new. The edge is still in great shape when I checked it earlier today. Based on my resharpening schedule, this shows that it is a good steel, and properly heat-treated.The knife has a G10 handle, and it is polished very smooth. The handle is a bit longer than most kitchen knifes, and I guess that is a Japanese style, as reflected from the brand name. The G10 handle is water resistent, that is to say, it can safely stay in or with water without concerns.Pros: good steel, well made, great value.Cons: the blade is a bit thinner than usual.

Magnificant Quality and Great Value.
The Knife is well constructed. The handle fits well in the hand and is balanced perfectly with the blade. Out of the box, the blade did not pass the tomato test, but once honed, it performed stupendously. I recommend honing the blade once you receive it as it was a bit dull.

elegant and sharp
bought this knife after being forced to sharpen my older one every 5 minutes.. cooking is my hobby so i decided to invest in a quality tool that will last.. once I opened the case the knife captured me totally .. a very good balance between the handle and the blade, the later is made of stainless steel of the highest quality, the handle feels much better than plastic or wood, looks very sturdy ..seriously, I'm impressed of the quality of this knife versus it's relatively cheap price.. needless to say it is sharp as a samurai sword, so chop responsibly .. a plastic guard accompanying the knife was very useful (for free, btw).. I've attached a pic of the berries I cut, my daughters are very picky when comes to food so I got to be creative to feed them.. with my older knife those berries would turn into a slushy mixture.. although bought to cut meat, if a fine cut needed - this knife seems to be right thing for the job

Best value for money, very high quality, at a funny price.I love to cook and I have a chef's knife, bought that one for a gift, but I think I'll just keep it and buy another one. :-)Anyway I recommend.

High quality, great value for money
I was looking for a new kitchen knife after my old one got some corrosion spots. I wanted a knife made of a good stainless steel, easy to sharp and well balanced. All that without spending too much money. I guess I found that all in Yugen knife. It’s made of 9cr18mov steel, which is a very high quality steel with high corrosion resistance. This steel is very easy to sharp, although the knife I received is already sharp enough. It has the right weight, well balanced. I also like the design, feels unique and professional. The knife arrived packed in a nice and fancy box. Came with plastic case, which is very useful especially if you keep the knife in the drawer or want to take it with you for some outdoor event. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. I think for this money it’s an optimal choice for a personal use and also can use a great gift.
