Some abbreviations are not discernable
I have made several tea cozies from this and other books in the series. I am an experienced knitter with lots of knowledge, but for the life of me, I can't figure out some of the abbreviations. An example is on page16-I figured out tbs (through back stitch) and tfs (through front stitch), but I have no idea what tfds means! I have searched the web and all of my knitting library, and cannot find that abbreviation listed anywhere. It must be an error. These directions are not for a knitter who is not willing and able to improvise. I have found that in all of the books in this series, the abbreviations list in the back is seriously incomplete! All in all, though, there are some really clever ideas for tea cozies in these books, and I have had fun knitting some of them.

Fun to make as gifts
These are fun and fairly simple to make. Can also make them into hats.

Some fun, some practical!
I've rarely had a knitting book that so many of my friends wanted to borrow! The photography is eye-catching and useful, the instructions seem clear, and the how-to guide is fine if you need it. I can't say if the patterns are error-free or not, because as I mentioned, everyone wants to borrow this book! Write your name in it if you buy it for your own knitting library.I appreciate the variety in difficulty levels, as well as whimsical vs functional patterns. You don't have to be an expert to try something out, but if you are this probably still has a few things to challenge you. This book would be a great gift for a tea-loving knitter. It would also be great to use if you are a knitter with tea-loving friends! Cozy all their teapots!

Great Cozies, but errors
This book has lovely and whimsical tea cozies. Would love to have 24 brown betty type tea pots so I could make 24 of the cozies and display them. However, check pattern instructions before starting. "Strawberries and Cream," instructions on p. 110 has errors. A couple in the first 2 pattern sections of instructions and major ones in the section where you make the strawberries. There's no row 5 or 8, but 2 row 9s. Email the publisher and they will send you the corrections in Windows Word format with corrections in red. It took less than 24 hours for me to get a response.

Great Designs and Ideas
This book has some wonderful designs and ideas for tea cozies. The yarns mentioned may have to be substituted with what is in your area, but the directions are precise and easy to read. Some are a little more challenging and I would not recommend this to beginner knitters unless they want to save it for when their skills improve. Good basics for designing your own cozy if you choose another stitch style.

Knitted tea cozies
I really like all the projects in the book. I haven't actually made any yet so can't really say the quality of instructions but the book itself is very nice and the photography is good.

I bought the set of these 4 books and like previous reviews
I bought the set of these 4 books and like previous reviews, the sizes are not given, some of the yarns are obsolete and no alternative given.......but more annoying......there are several typo errors, one says work 8rows stocking stitch when the picture clearly is garter stitch as the pattern was at the start. Another completely misses out the decreasing section of a leaf, left with 7 stitches it said knit 2 tog then fasten off??? The other one is in the same pattern, book 2 page 43. During shaping the top the maths don't work out and the wrong number of stitches are stated. Now, I'm an experienced knitter but a novice would be driven to chuck the whole bl.... Thing out of the window. For goodness sake these are basic patterns and should be adequately checked and tested prior to publication. I've e mailed the company

I love this book!
I love this book! So pleased with it! I have been looking through it over and over and can't stop giggling at how cute some of the cozies are! It has given me lots of inspiration and I have made lots of tea cozies for friends and family members for pressants and things. One thing I would say is they are quite advanced and I am not good enough to knit all of them yet. However, I think that's a good thing as you can keep going back to it as your skills develope. I also have the hot water bottle version of this book which I am equally positive about!

Tea cozies 2
Great fun in these austere times and for Β£6 money well spent to raise a smile. Like other reviews, this has not been proof read by anyone who knits and there are mistakes. I made wash day (on front cover) and had I not been an experienced knitter, would have struggled with the instructions. Purl rows are described as knit, the author forgets to tell us to turn work before casting on and then turn again to finish the row when making neck holes. Too much space given for photo's, but otherwise a fun book and good for bazaar knits. SOme wonderful patterns and some really naff ones.

Tea cozies 2
Just what I was looking for, nothing too complicated or weird. I was attracted by the washing line tea cosy on the front cover, the thought of a line of washing flapping in the breeze seemed to match the whole period when I remember the tea cosy being used every day. Imagine my delight as every turn of the page revealed more delights. I will interchange designs and colours to suit. Thank you.

Lovely range of patterns.
This book is well presented and everybody I have shown it to wants me to knit a different style for them so I am kept busy. Would not recommend it for beginners as unfortunately the last cosy I knitted had several mistakes in the instructions that a novice could not unscramble. Shame as otherwise a favourite book of mine.
