Illustrations & Japanese Move Descriptions
So, like a dumb-dumb, I didn't realize this book is in French. Luckily, the illustrations in this book are fantastic and the descriptions of each move are in Japanese, which we use in our USEWF dojo. For me, the book is a supplement to weekly instruction, and so I wanted it for reference and memorization during practice at home. Even though I don't speak French, everything else about this book is so clear that it doesn't matter.

A good book for reference on kihon.
I would love it if the publishers would bring out an English language version of this book. It is good for experienced karate-ka to go to for reference and revision, even if like me, your French is as fluent as Del-boy Trotter. Had an English version been available then I would have given it 5 stars.

Excellent
Although this is in French, I can understand most of this with secondary school level French and its not hard to translate the bits i'm not sure of with the tools out on the internet. With the scarcity of quality material available on Wado-Ryu any new addition has to be welcomed. Sensei Otsuka's knowledge of Wado is unquestionable, given he is the grandson of the 1st Grandmaster. This work not only covers the 10 Kihon Kumite but also recollections of his grandfather, traditions and philosophy of the style. An absolute must for any serious Wado-ryu collection. No doubt others are waiting with baited breath for an english translation.
