It's silent: at ordinary distances, or even up close, the clock I received makes no sound at all, no humming or ticking. If I put my ear right up against it, I hear a low, faintly mechanical wuzzawuzzawuzza as the gear train works. If you need quieter, I suggest a digital clock?It's exquisitely well designed. I have a thing about clock and watch design. In my opinion, the hour hand should reach the hour index and the minute hand should reach the minute index. Simple, but so many watches and clocks (I'm looking at you, Omega SMP) get it wrong. (On another note, I had my Seiko diver completely customized to achieve the look and functionality I wanted, different hands, day/date wheels, bracelet, and movement. One of these days I'll either have my SMP's hands replaced, or I'll just sell the thing.) On this clock, the graceful spear-point hands easily reach their indexes, which hugely enhances quick readability.The wood rim is real wood, too, a real bonus. This is an inexpensive, mass-produced clock, but it feels better than its price point, so that's a big plus. It looks good on the wall too.I'd never heard of this brand, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another clock from them should the need arise.

Rich looking as it has a nice wood finish. I replaced an old battery operated clock with this. It’s only 2 feet from me and I never hear anything from it, unlike the distracting tick-tock of my old clock. This clock keeps great time and fits perfect with my decor.

For several years, I have had a Bulova wooden wall clock which I liked a lot; I overlooked the slightly inaccurate time it kept because the sweeping second hand was silent. Then it started to hum or whir and I found myself looking for a replacement. I was very disappointed in Bulova's disinterested customer service response when I contacted them, so I will not be giving that company my hard-earned money again. I was somewhat hesitant about this clock but took a chance and ordered it. For a mass produced time piece, i am impressed: the clock appears subdued yet distinguished. I like the wood grain, the cream-colored face and black, readable numerals. Most of all, I was pleased and relieved to hear how silent the clock is since it is so close to the recliner I spend my workdays in. As long as the clock remains silent for years to come, I will be singing its praises all the live-long day.

Nice wooden frame. Keeps good time and is quiet.Glass face is a little too reflective so, it's hard to see sometimes.

Update: July 28 2022 first battery finally died. A year and 7 months on one AA battery, that's excellent!I put this into service in my basement bathroom in late December 2020. Now it's near the end of July 2021. It's still on the original battery, a Monoprice branded AA alkaline, still going strong. It may make a little bit of sound, if you hold your ear to the mechanism in back, you'll hear a little grinding of gears sound, but for me it's been otherwise silent. It's as strikingly handsome in person as Amazon's photos would indicate. The sweeping second hand took a bit to get used to, it looks like a normal wall clock plugged in to an outlet, but that makes it more elegant somehow, and I quickly grew to love it. It is accurate, and beautiful.I recommend it.
