It gets the job done.

This is a great product. It is made from anodized aluminum; black, with white markings in both metric and imperial scales. Not only does this look quite nice, but also makes it super easy to read the markings. Overall, this is a very nice looking product, and while that shouldn’t matter a whole lot, I do appreciate it. It can be used in a couple different ways. It has a base bar, a long bar that attaches to it, and another long bar that can either be attached to the end of the first or used as a cross bar. The long bar has some spring loaded bearings that fit into indents in the base bar, allowing it to index into five angles in either direction, as well as a perfect 90 degrees. There are three sliders that are locked with thumbscrews, with both 3 and 4.5 mm metal holes for guiding drills. The sliders are very nicely made; strong plastic bodies with metal inserts for the guide holes, and markings that align with the markings on the bars to show exactly where the center of each hole is. However, this is also where the main issue I have with the product resides. It measures both metric and imperial units, so why not have both metric and imperial sized holes on the sliders? Ultimately, I’m not too upset over this, as I can easily make my own slider with whatever sizes I want, but it is still a bit annoying. Overall, this thing seems super durable. The aluminum body won’t break easily, even the plastic sliders seem extremely strong, and it also contains extra pieces for locking the long bars together. I’m torn between four and five stars, but I think I will go with five. My issues with it, just aren’t severe enough to justify dropping the rating.

I've got other measuring, scribing, drill jig tools. Depending on the situation, one will always work better than another. So, this one expands my abilities. It is a well-made, heftier than usual tool. Looks like it should durable to last for years to come. The measuring and angle markings are very distinct and easy to read. It comes in sections so that the length can be expanded. Sections are held together by small but sturdy dowels and set screws. The set screws are tiny and the tool comes with the hex wrench for tightening them. About half of the set screws had come out of their bag inside the retail box. Thankfully the retail box was cello wrapped so none of them escaped. All parts were present and accounted for. Another thing I wanted to mention is that the clamping knobs all work very well. Everything holds in place when tightened. No loosey goosey flopping around when you are trying to make accurate positioning. The only thing I find odd about the tool is the length. Nothing wrong with it. The length at 29.5 measurable inches is odd. Another reviewer made an excellent demonstration video for this tool. It is much better than I could have done, so go find and check it out.

I purchased this tool while building a custom bar top and needed to accurately mark a 45-degree corner cut. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as precise as advertised. The angle measurements were noticeably off, which became obvious when laying out cuts that needed to fit together cleanly. For rough work it might be acceptable, but for finish carpentry or cabinetry where accuracy matters, I found it unreliable. Another issue is the extension piece. When connected to the main section, it does not sit perfectly flush and creates a slight offset. That may not sound like much, but it can affect the accuracy of your layout lines and defeats the purpose of a precision marking tool. Overall, I was disappointed with the fit and accuracy of this product. Since precision was the primary reason I purchased it, I'll be returning it and looking for a better-quality alternative.

It does MORE than they suggest...you can use it as a "T-Square", a graduated "Straight Edge", a Ruler, an "Angle Finder", a hole drill Jig, an angle marker...it's so versatile and easy to use! I just even used it to draw literally perfect circles to mount a subwoofer in a piece of MDF! I took it apart, set the red index markers to put the points for the radius and used an awl to anchor one end! A pencil marked the circle perfectly with amazing precision! It's an amazing value for the money...it's retailing for $40, but because it's a "real" precision instrument offered for less than $150...the value proposition here is SHOCKING! Am I confused at why it's a 29.5" tool? Slightly. I'll admit the size is a little "odd"...why not 30 inches? I think it's because it's dead-on at 75 cm...and Saker probably knows we really like our imperial measurements here! This is a great tool, it can be used in a LOT of ways, and offers an amazing value for the money! Get one for yourself and as a gift!

I love this tool! It is absolutely one of the most versatile “rulers” that I have ever used. Ruler is quoted because it is much more than that. Yes, it is a straight edge ruler, but the connecting rods and set screws join each segment allow you measure longer lengths. The sliding guide allows you to accurately position your drill. Everything locks in place. It allows accurate scribing, but neither a scribe nor marking pencil are provided with this model. Although I rarely install cabinet hardware, it is easy to see how the process works. Just for fun, I checked the positioning and accuracy on a couple of kitchen drawers. Spot on! The T-square and protractor are very accurate. Both are great for art projects as well as general woodworking. Update: After using this for a few days, the one item I think Saker should consider and provide is a storage case, preferably a molded plastic. The cardboard box is not going to last long and it will be easy to lose the small connecting rods, set screws, and keys. At the very least, provide an option to purchase a case. As far as the quality of the tool: heavy weight, solid, easy to read precise measurements, well-machined, and the list goes on. Some of my older measuring tools will be moving to my son-in-law’s workshop!

Im a pro woodworker in the trade for over 50 years. This is not a pro tool. Innacurate and not reliable enough for precision work. slips out of angle easily. proboably good enough for hobbyists and casual DIYers. Looks cool, but serious woodworkers should pass.
