desertcart.com : AKAZA 9" Stackable Stainless Steel Seed Sprouting Kit, 3-Tier Mesh Sprouting Tray,1 Base and 1 Cover Lid, Microgreens Propagator for Beans Peas Broccoli Wheat Grass (Clear) : Patio, Lawn & Garden Review: These trays are amazing. I didn’t know what I was missing! - These sprout trays are a huge improvement over sprouting in jars. I had issues with flavor in my jar sprouts because it seems like the water never would fully drain. Maybe that was a problem with the way I was doing it, but these trays fixed it completely. They allow any water to collect in the bottom catch tray while the sprouts stay elevated on the mesh tray. During my daily sprout rinse I just dump the base tray and give it a quick rinse and reassemble the stack, and I can move on. It requires much less maintenance and frustration than the jar method for me. I am so happy with the the quantity and quality of the sprouts I get from the trays. The flavor is much better for me and the sprouts themselves seem more substantial so far. The trays themselves are sturdy and seem like they’ll probably outlive me, so I’m pleased with the quality there. The only potential drawback is the footprint of the trays is larger than a single jar, but if you were using more than one jar, these probably won’t take up much more counter space at all. Sometimes the roots can get stuck on the mesh if they break off during harvesting but that’s a minor issue for me. I also appreciate that there are two mesh trays, so I can have a couple types or batches of sprouts at a time. I soak one batch of seeds overnight, then spread them into the mesh, and I’m able to then start a soak of another batch to spread on the second tray around 12 hours later. Overall these are just a huge improvement for my sprouting process, I’ll never go back to the jar method.
