It's solid and has a pleasant hefty to it. The screen is great with excellent color, resolution, and brightness. The hinge clicks solidly into place at a good viewing angle.the size is perfect for travel. Now the bad: Most, and I mean the vastly overwhelming majority of the games on this system, are arcade and obscure system shovelware. If you're looking for prominent consoles or games you'll have to find them yourself and figure out how to install them. Load times are insane. Like go for a walk, come back and make a sandwich, eat it and watch TV for awhile, and your game will possibly have loaded kinds of insane. Same for exiting a game. The analog sticks cause your hands to cramp after using them as the positions are kind of awkward. Finally, get ready to re-map those buttons. Games like Quake are a nightmare to play with default controls. So, excellent hardware, but software that's not at all for beginners. Review: nostalgia games - if you are a gamer and traveling, this is perfect! this is good for a roadtrip, plane ride. it is pocket size, and has endless games preinstalled to play as well as it’s super easy to add new ones. battery life is pretty good, and the buttons feel really crisp. it brings me back to the ds and gameboy days, would definitely recommend!

For this price and these generations of console emulation, I wouldn't choose anything else.
runs the portmaster versions of N64 games really well. I personally use muOS on this thing. Look up how to set up muOS and how to install portmaster games. There was a bit of a learning curve for learning the file structure and how to set up everything, but if you're into tech and are a millennial you you'll be right at home. The games that were included were kinda bunk, and I replaced the SD card immediately because I hear nothing good about the stock card and everyone says they fail immediately. The portability and durability are awesome. I can confidently throw this thing in my cargo pants pocket and have it with me ready to play during down time at work, or throw it into a toolbox/workbag and the clamshell protects itself. no complaints about the battery life. I haven't been tracking it super precisely. It has perfect compatibility with pre ps1 games. It handles some PS1 and PSP games decent enough, but can't say it handles their entire library well confidently. For N64, you're best bet is to use the versions of the top hit bangers that you will find on portmaster. those ports run impressively well. I'm glad I got this version instead of the RG35XXSP, because games like ocarina of time would not be playable without the joysticks because you wouldn't be able to aim the slingshot/bow.

Great Device but with a few important things you need to know
PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING. IMPORTANT BATTERY AND CHARGING INFO: This is a great retro handheld brings back memory’s of playing my gba SP and I think it has one of the better hinges compared to other clamshell retro devices. I have had it about 2 weeks and it is working great, after a bit of tinkering and problem solving. Please see below for more info before buying. PROs: - Nostalgia 9.5/10 - Will play almost all games Pre PS1 (3D games are hit and miss but that’s to be expected) - Runs great ONCE you get it setup. - *Good battery life ***The battery percentage was not at all accurate when I got it. If you let the device fully run out of battery and then charge it then it will fix the battery percentage.*** - Screen looks amazing. CONS: - Charging DOES NOT HAVE protection. DO NOT USE A FAST CHARGER. You will run into issues and you can kill the entire device. - CHECK THE RECOMMENDED VOLTAGE AND AMP BEFORE CHARGING. If your charging block has a higher amp or voltage then it recommends, you WILL run into issues. I had to unplug the battery in order to fix this issue because it will not turn on after using the wrong charger. - Stock OS is alright, I switched to Knulli and it made my experience 1000% better. Overall: Great device. Super fun to play, really amazing for the price. I would recommend this device to almost everyone. If the battery stuff makes you nervous or you do not like tinkering I would recommend a different device. However if you follow the charging recommendations then the device is amazing.

Great little handheld, but it's probably smaller than you remember
This worked really well for what it was, but I totally misjudged how big my hands are now compared to when I originally enjoyed my original SP. Returned it to purchase a bigger version, but that return was because of my preferences, not because of the quality of the machine.
