G Is for Grand Canyon : An Arizona Alphabet (Alphabet Series) Hardcover – August 26, 2002

Nice facts in the margin in addition to the text. The items for each letter were for the most part well chosen, but I do not know enough about Arizona to pick different items. Overall, what is presented in this book just fells/seems like something is missing but I cannot put my finger on what it is... Also the book felt redundant-themed at times and included a few things that just did not seem special enough to worthy inclusion. I also do not like that some letters have two page spreads and some only one page. Bought this for a friend in good condition but didn’t realize it would come with writing all inside. Not thrilled with that and will probably return to get brand new to insure no writing at all much less a note to a previous kid.

My wife and I are originally from Arizona (although I am currently serving in the military) & have purchased several copies of this book for our friends. The most recent purchase I made was for Iraqis with whom I served (since I kept explaining how similar the environments in Iraq and Arizona are (at least in the places where I've served/ lived in both of those locations)). We love the fact that the book includes a short, rhyming portion for young children, as well as a more descriptive entry for older readers. Great book & great series (we own copies of some of the other states in the series, as well)!

Love this series!!!! I am traveling with my grandchildren and as we visit a state they get the book!!! They have a short verse with each letter of the alphabet and a longer more in-depth paragraph for higher level readers.

This is an excellent alphabet book representing Arizona. I took it with me on a trip to the Amazon and gave it to an indigenous family to share with their local school. The pictures are excellent and the text is easy to understand. I looked at a lot of books before deciding on this one to represent our state.

The Discover America alphabet series are great books for all readers! Elementary age can read them and they are full of great state facts and history. I love reading through them each time I get my hands on a new one.

These alphabet books make wonderful gifts for young relatives in different states. They contain lovely pictures, along with interesting facts about the states. Both the children and the adults for whom I have purchased these books thought they were great.

It's a great book. I'm giving it to my granddaughter. I'm sure she will love it.
