Viking Cycle Men's Braided Motorcycle Leather Chaps

My size tends to be Large on most if not all ordering no matter the seller or type of clothing ie. jackets, pants, shirts ect. I am 5'8" 165lbs. and I ordered a Small they fit fine in all category's waist, length, thigh seems to be a spot some reviews listed I wore levi 505 jeans under these and the belt was at the 3rd notch from the end of the belt ( there are 6 notches ) I can put it on the 4th for a tighter fit ( not to tight and also comfortable for me ) if I choose.In the Thigh area I can slide my hand into the area with no problem so not too tight on me at all my thighs seem to be about 21 inch ( as best as I can measure, this is probably a sliding scale for most people? ) Wore them on the Bike a Harley Ultra and they were very comfortable.The Length is a Tad Long when just standing in them but on the Bike with legs bent they are where I like to see them and should help to cover the tops of my shoes should I encounter Rain. I have not tried these on with my new Riding Boots because they are not here yet. This said they are looking to be a tight fit with my 10 inch tall boots when snapping the snaps at the bottom ( I will know in a day or two ) However for ME leaving 1 or 2 of these unsnapped is Not an issue. My inseam ( as I measured it ) is about 30-31 inches.Overall having worn them for about a 1-2 HR. ride in about 60-65 degree temps I am Very Happy with this purchase, I have looked at a lot of different Chaps and having worn them find that this feels like it was/is a Great Value for the Price compared to others out there.I edited this as I had put that I ordered a Large when in fact I ordered a Small that fits me so well.Another Edit I have received my new Riding Boots that are 10" tall Harley Axel Motorcycle Boots a good sized boot and No Problems getting the snaps snapped, Actually it makes it easier because there is less flexing of the material so the solid boot reinforces the snapping process if that makes sense to anyone.I cannot be Happier with these Chaps I have Ridden 5-6 times now and the Temps have been in the 60's most of the Rides have been over 100 miles and there very comfortable to wear and look Great.

Not the nicest in the world and fit a little baggy but they seem to do the trick.

Overall, my order seems to be well made. No stitching issues and the zippers, buttons, and buckle are decent quality. The leather is uniform in color, texture and feels supple. My issue was with fit. At 5'11" and 175lbs, I am exactly 33" waist and 33" inseam. So, I am right on the cusp between medium and large. I usually end up needing a large size in items that are not made to exact waist and inseam size. The large size that I ordered and received was barely small enough at the waist with only one hole left for adjustment in the waist. The laces in the back were already at the tightest fit, so no room for adjustment there. Way too much room in the thighs. I could easily put my fist between the leather and my thighs.I am returning them and have already put in an order for a size Medium. Unfortunately, I won't receive them for another two to three weeks. Just hoping that the length is OK. I would recommend that they make them all an inch longer. The leather is not stitched at the ankles, so they can be easily cut to fit.

I'm only giving these 4 stars because the sizing chart only uses thigh size. I am not fat, nor are my thighs fat, so when I measured my thighs and ordered I thought it seemed too big for me. I got them, tried them on and they are a little loose, like relax fitting Jean's. The worst part is I have to tighten the belt all the way to the last notch at the waist and they could still be a little tighter. I obviously should have ordered a size smaller but I went by their chart! Will probably keep them, better too loose than too tight I guess, but these were made for someone much bigger than myself especially at the waist. Quality wise they seem very well made, the leather is much thicker than I expected, they are long but are meant to be cut to length, and they would look great if they were a size smaller at least. I would recommend buying these but going by their measuring guide is a crapshoot, some say their too tight, mine are too loose.

Maybe even 2 1/2 stars, because when I took them out of the box I was impressed that that leather was good quality, good quality snaps that held well but weren't too hard to snap on or off, as well as stout YKK zippers and an inner lining for the legs. Unfortunately for me, these last two items were the downfall of the chaps. First time I tried them on the zipper on the right side got caught up in the liner so bad that no matter how hard I tugged in either direction, the zipper only jammed worse. Looking at the other leg, it seemed to me that the liner had a lot less slack in it, so I have to think this was a quality defect. Amazon as always is immediate with the no-questions-asked return policy. I haven't made up my mind about whether I am going to re-order these or try something else. I certainly would have been very happy with them without the zipper malfunction.15 Nov 14 - I did reorder these and I'm happy I did. Now that I know to be careful with the zippers I suspect I will be using these for a very long time.

My first pair did not agree with the vendors size chart. I measured according to their instructions and ordered from the chart but the chaps were too large. the company was very good and facilitated an easy and painless exchange for the next size smaller. Unfortunately the second pair shipped were the exact same size - they did a direct exchange instead of sending me the next size smaller.Since it was now time for some serious riding I decided to just keep the oversize chaps and modify them myself.As for the chaps: very well made from a good weight leather. The snaps are fairly stiff but they will loosen over time and I'd much prefer they start with stiff snaps than easy ones. The seams appear very strong. The first time I wore them they seemed to stiff but after a good working-over with leather conditioner they are now much softer and more comfortable.I would definitely recommend these to biker friends and have already done so to one friend.

I put them on, they fit exactly as they needed to and I have never looked back. Worked out great for me.

Good quality. Fit to large. Wanted to exchange for smaller size, but out of stock. They wanted a 30 percent restocking fee. To much
