Kwikset Juno Entry Door Knob with Lock and Key, Secure Keyed Handle Exterior, Front Entrance and Bedroom, Antique Brass, Pick Resistant SmartKey Rekey Security and Microban

SmartKey allows you to rekey your new door lock to an existing key and it is SO EASY!!!!! I didn’t read the directions, instead watched the video Kwikset has on YouTube. Word of advice, gentlemen and ladies and gentlemen again: Watch the very short video, without distraction, at least once before you just cue up the video with your nerves already tweaked from installing the door lock. Here’s why... Replacing my existing entry door lock/installing this new Kwikset Juno Wntry Lock was a more than a little exasperating. Replacing door locks is always at best an annoyance to me because twisting those screws that are just behind the roundish door knob is a serious PITA (pain in the...). Forget doing it with a standard Phillips head bit unless you’re okay with your door handle being jacked up. (I mean, in hindsight it could’ve helped to use masking or painters tape a good 2 layers on the knob, but that thought just hit me as I type this). So you just about need a manual Phillips screwdriver. And keeping those screws in place without them falling through AND hitting those holes on the inside of the outdoor side is AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH. Of course, if you haven’t figured this out, I’m a high strung, low patience girl - hahaha. Rekeying was the easiest part of the process of installing this new door lock, I’ll put it like that. Is it worth hiring a locksmith or handyman - uh, not even a little bit. Anywayssss... this door lock is great! Low cost, relatively easy installation, and BRILLIANT rekeying DIY capability.

Easy to install, with a perfect fit and finish that ended up an exact replacement needing no adjustments (could pass as the one that was originally installed). This quality knob feels strong and durable like something that will really last. I just could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Easy to install nice color

I bought this door knob and it turned out that the latch that was included was too short. I called Kwikset and they sent a longer latch totally free of charge. I am astounded by their customer service! The door knob was so easy to install and it looks fabulous!

I really like the "one key" system. We purchased a country cabin that has a total of six locking doors (three are carport closets) and I easily keyed them all to match our other home. Less keys to mess with. Didn't like that the locking mechanisms had some of the key teeth up and some of the key teeth down. Called up Kwikset customer service and they sent me a small tool that makes it easy to remove the "cores" and orient them all in the same direction. This helps when it's dark and I can't see which way the keyhole is facing - now they are all "key teeth down." Wish they had these when I owned rental houses. For my own house, if I every lose a key or get one stolen I can grab one of the Kwikset keys that were included with one of the sets that I didn't use and re-key all my doors in short order.

Got this to replace an older door knob lock that was beginning to jam. I feel more secure with this knob as it has extra security features that the older Kwikset knob did not have, including longer strike plate screws and anti-tamper guards so people can not unlock the lock using a thin blade between the door and the housing (cant believe my old one didn't have this!) The twisting action and materials feel premium albeit the knob did come with a small scratch. The only thing I wish was improved is the feeling of twisting the lock from the inside. It feels very numb and lacks the quality "click" feeling when twisting the switch between locked and unlocked that other knobs have, this is visually shown as well because the locking switch can wiggle/has play in either the unlocked or locked position causing the switch to sometimes rest slightly diagonally instead of horizontally or vertically. It makes you think, "Did I fully engage the lock? Better double check." It's such a numb/loose feeling that it almost makes you think that someone jiggling the knob from the outside violently could cause the switch to unlock itself. Although this is unlikely. That may be a silly nitpick, however improving the feeling of the locking action would instill a better sense of security for me.

I went to a nearby locksmith and got it to match my other door locks for only $10 to rekey. I love the simple design, which is not that easy to find without spending more money and I know antique brass is not as popular as it used to be but this one looks really great and matches my other door hardware around the house.

If you need to change door knobs this is the way to go. Kwikset - What I like the best about this Kwikset was to be able to re key the lock to the same keys for my other doors. I've read that others had problems at changing the key set. All I have to say to that... Follow the Directions... If you are still having problems, read the instructions again.

Easy to install, nice look. The ability to re-key yourself is great.

Excellent process Product met my expectations

Tenía una perilla que instalé hace unos 18 años pero perdí las llaves. Esta es un poco más cara que la que te encuentras en la tienda depot pero se siente muy bien al tacto cuando se usa. Es de mucho mayor seguridad. Estoy satisfecho con la compra.

The handle set is decent (grade 3 quality) but the core where the key goes in feels like plastic. When you insert the key it crunches and doesn't give a sense of solid security. This doesn't seem like something that will hold up over time and in fluctuating weather. Maybe use this if you want to keep your kids out of something but I would not rely on it for anything more than that.
