Q: What is the grain weight of the shooting head?

Almost all modern fly lines stick to the AFTMA standard, so if this is a 10 WF line (like the one I ordered) it would weigh between 270 - 290 grains, old shooting tapers for 10 weight lines were 300 grains. BTW this line is designed to be used with large/heavy saltwater flies but you have to apply a little common sense to their use. If you are throwing a double-weighted fly that weighs 1.5 ounces, the 10 won't be appropriate, you should step up to an 11 or a 12.

Q: Anyone used this for bonefish? In hot salt water? I will be trying it now in the Bahamas.

I have used around Clearwater area, not bone fish specifically. However it did not cast very well. I was using 14 wt heavy saltwater line, maybe the lighter would be better, but compared to other fly line, I was not impressed.

Q: what temperature range would you use this?

I fished it in warm water and it didn’t last long. I’d buy better line if you can. It may hold up longer in cold water. It started cracking pretty quickly after catching a few N Florida redfish!!!
