Great book, beautiful quality, the name on the book from it being previously used made for a funny story but my son loved it.

Daily Life of the Sioux
Purchased for use with schooling Unitarian-Universalist (liberal religion/spirituality) classes, I find this is an excellent resource. I recommend it for all ages. It has wonderful illustrations and explanations about life before the European-Americans arrived. It also contains a brief explanation about life in the post-invasion period and how Native Americans live in "modern" society. Using everyday language which almost any age can understand, this book goes into a great deal of information about Native American living on the Great Plains of North America. Good dialog starter.
I like the question-answering format. Appropriate for a broad range of ages. Even as a chapter at a time discussion tool for kindergarten. My only dissatisfaction was the condition my 2 books arrived in. The spines were torn on both.

Warning About the Last Few Pages of the Book
Overall not a bad product until you get to the last five pages of the book. The author goes on a rant blaming the government for not giving enough money to Native American indian tribes. Native American's recieve the most money per capita in subsidies of any minority group in the United States. The book is also titled If You Lived with the Sioux Indians past tense, not present tense. I assumed I was buying a historical account not a book on present day political issues. I would highly recommend the publisher drop the last few pages that are titled a message from the author. Had those pages not been there this would be a five star review instead of a three star review.

Great product for teachers!
As a teacher I use some of the books in the series to read to my 8th grade History classes. I utilize the books around the units in American History to expand student knowledge of the people or situations we are discussing. I read 4-5 pages everyday and we discuss the information contained in the books. The students gain a much better perspective of what it was like.
