Don’t listen to the diy’ers who don’t understand tools. These things rock.
I’m on my 3rd or 4th pair, not because they are bad, because I lost them doing road service. I read that some people have an issue with them cutting “small branches” and metal wire. If you’re bending them, you are misusing them, if you are chipping the blades then they are doing the job but of course you’re chipping the blade cutting wire, it’s a razor blade!. I have never bent a pair but I have chipped the blades. I cut a lot of automotive wire and cables. 1/0 wire and down, 7 way trailer cable, airbrake tubing (the best), radiator hoses. I have used them for pruning trees but not small branches, that’s why I have pruners. As amazing as these are they have limitations. I’ve had a couple of different brands from blue point to this brand (I’m buying another pair today) and they seem to be all the same with a different branded handle and anvil. I have used these with the same blade for a long time. Even with some chips in the blade they cut clean with ease. Do not hesitate to buy these and if you abuse them to the point you are bending them don’t blame the tool. Buy the right tool for the job. These things do work, I am a craftsman who does many things, mechanics, welding, fabrication, interior work, wood working, landscaping automotive and home electrical, fiberglass work…. I always seem to find a use for these without issue. Would I cut a 1” or bigger branch? No. But they will cut through a 1” branch. Will it cut a hundred “small branches? Probably not. Buy pruners. Even with the blade chipped up it still cuts nylon airbrake tubing clean and square for those quick connect fittings. Don’t listen to a light duty DIY’er who doesn’t understand tools. I have 10’s of thousands of dollars in tools and equipment. These are the real deal.

Cuts rope nice, but a problem
I bought this for cutting rope. It does do a good job, but one thing I noticed is that the blade does not come down on the anvil evenly. Even with trying to readjust the blade, I am unable to fix this. It will still be useful to have, but cutter is not as good as it could be.

Great cutting tool!
Great cutting tool! Used it to cut plastic TV power cord hiders to custom lengths. The cuts were very clean. I now have a tool to cut thick materials that my heavy-duty scissors won't. Highly recommend.

Used it to cut (warmed) PVC handrail cover. Blade did not flex. Cuts were square. Expensive, but good quality.
