This is a very lovely effect on our stairs but because it is contact paper it is not an easy project. My late husband was a professional wallpaper hanger of great notoriety. He hung paper for the Rockefeller Center in Phoenix, Dick Van Dyke’s home, Amanda Blake's home and many more. He has often said that he would not even consider hanging contact paper because it is not forgiving and the installation of it is quite tedious. BOY WAS HE RIGHT! It is not easy and it took me seven hours to do our stairs. Regular wall paper would have been much easier because you can move it around to position it. I do love the look of it. If you must take it off to reposition it, ...it may not re-adhere to your surface. Make very sure that the surface is clean. You should buy extra just in case. Also watch for your shadows on the design so that you place it properly. We have received several compliments on our staircase.

Bought these for our basement stairs thought they would be something different. These came in a roll (see picture) and they were not all in order once we unrolled them. Not a big deal we just laid them all out and numbered them and then put books on them to weigh them down and flatten them out. They are a type of contact paper sticker and they do need to be trimmed to size (we had to take off 3inches from each side to the image stayed centered). Once trimmed they are a little tricky to stick to the stairs but they came off easily so that I could adjust as necessary before really pushing them into place. I would purchase again. I think they look great we will see how long they last. See pictures for a before and after.

These look amazing on these basement stairs. It’s my Airbnb home so there’s people constantly going up and down and not one has come undone. I seem good and bad things about them but they really look amazing. My basement is more of a rustic look so they wouldn’t do as well like on my modern stairs so that’s the only thing you need to think about before you put them up.

Colors aren't *as* vivid as pictured but overall it is a pretty effect. Peels off easy and easy to use, even on my 80 year old not square stairs....I recommend an Exacto knife and using your hands to smooth out bubbles vs the scraper thing.

Update: I wasn't able to fix these so they would stick. I had to take them off and toss them. Big waste of money.These do not stick well. I thoroughly cleaned the stairs before I applied these. They were a little difficult to work with because of length but I managed to get them on. They started peeling down after 3 weeks. EVERY DAY I have to fix a few. I'm probably going to take them off. Not worth the money. They do look nice.
