Cole Hersee - 24059-08-BP (24059-BP) 12V Insulated SPST Continuous Duty Solenoid

Just installed, but works for a 1997 Nifty Lift tm34 / 120 with a Smiths Industries pump great so far!

I bought this relay to mount under the hood of my tow vehicle and provide charging current to the trailer batteries that run an inverter to power an AC 110 volt Samsung residential fridge while on the road towing. I run the relay off my cigarette lighter circuit to energize the relay and the main power goes directly from alternator to one side of the solenoid while the other side is wired to the trailer towing circuit through a 200 amp rated winch connector. These wires both from the alternator and to the trailer and the corresponding wires in the trailer are all wired with #4 welding wire on both the +and - sides so my batteries are always charged. The Trailer batteries ( 6, 6 volt golf cart batteries stay charged while running the inverter in the trailer) which runs the residential fridge while on the road. So far, it’s been doing great. I will update after more miles roll the relay through it’s paces. I wanted a good quality USA made solenoid, that should last. My last tow vehicles Cole Hersee solenoid lasted 15 years. I hope this relay works like my old one did.

Bought this to disconnect the battery on my travel trailer from the vehicle when not running. I installed it on the firewall and connected one side to the vehicle battery through a circuit breaker. The other side connects to the trailer harness. It's energized through the daylight running lights so it is only on when the vehicle is running. I've only had it installed for a few months and everything works fine so far. I have not used it with the trailer yet. You can hear it from the vehicle cab when it engages. It appears to be well made with robust terminals.

Bought a few to replace some in a service crane, they seem like nice units and work well so far, my only complaint is for the price they should include nuts and washers, especially considering they are pictured. IIRC you need 5/16 fine thread nuts and #10 fine thread nuts

I have a Bush Hog zero turn that was originally built with this Solenoid. One day after I finished cutting the grass I shut off the mower and noticed the starter was spinning. The only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Lucky me the starter survived, but it was pretty obvious the solenoid had welded itself closed. A replacement part from an authorized dealer was over $100. After doing some searching I found a review on here with another person who said it worked on his Bush Hog so I bought it. At less than 1/3 the price and an exact fit, I can't complain. Install was tough, but that's due to the location in the mower, not the solenoid itself. I am a bit disappointed the original died as these are heavy duty contacts. I have hopes the replacement will last 10 years or more. Overall a great buy at a better price than dealer.

I’ve bought two of these back to back and both have arrived without the hardware. (Nuts and washers)

I love the solid ker-chunk when these close. It keeps you from having to feed high Amp wire and worrying that the little switch can't handle the load. I put my big driving lights on this so a small switch on the dash activates the solonoid an the lights get all the amps they need with no heat worries.
