For the money, it is great value. I use mostly in the oven, but it works fine on the electric hob. I seasoned it first before use as I have with all my cast iron pans.The handle's quite short, but that suits me for oven use.I would of preferred it to be a few centimetres wider, but it serves my purpose.The base is flat and it heats evenly. The small edge lips are useful for catching runaway oil or sauce.Very pleased with its performance.

I absolutely love it! It is perfect, cooks evenly. Can use in the oven and on the hob, but must remember to use a oven mitt as the handle gets very hot!!!

I was uncertain about buying this but I have to say I love it because its beautiful. It is well made and has a gorgeous black properly seasoned colour. Initially it seemed totally flat but I fear its not very thick and may have warped at bit where the gas flame hits in the middle. I tried it with an egg and it stayed in the middle but now it goes all over and results in more scramble than omelette.It is easy to clean. I use a stiff brush to brush off the debris and run it under warm water. It comes up perfect every time. I then dry it with a cloth and put it on the burner to burn of residual moisture. I rubbed in a few drops of oil using a lint free cloth a few times too.I keep it on the stove and love to look at it, normally it would take years to get an iron pan to look how this already is.I'd like to buy the whole range but probably won't as I have enough pans for now.4 stars not 5 because I don't know how about longevity, and the change in flatness.

Its a good quality product. nice and heavy and just what I was looking for to try cooking some different varieties of indian bread. but the middle of the pan overheats immensely and disproportionate to the rest of the pan. so everything will be burnt in the middle. i have to assume this was made for gas hobs where the bulk of the heat is further away from the center. but haven't tried in other types of hobs.

Bought this in Dec 2019 and its still going strong in Oct 2022, I don't see why it won't continue onwards for many more years so its fantastic value for the price.

This review, and rating, is based on it's suitability with an induction hob. I've used cast iron pans before and I like them, but this one just didn't seem to work. I don't normally use cast iron pans any more because my wife won't let me, and refuses to use them herself. I sneaked this one in.As the pictures show, the underside of the pan has a large embossed Amazon Basics logo. This raises most of the underside up from the heat surface. I SUSPECT that this had an adverse effect on the pans cooking abilities with induction.I also tested the heat distribution of the pan, by filling it with water and watching it boil. It didn't seem to heat up across the whole base no matter what heat setting it was on. I compared it with the same test on a Tefal induction pan, which bubbled across the whole base of the pan.So all in all, this pan was sadly a fail for me. Uneven cooking across it's surface, and it doesn't seem to transfer heat across the cooking surface very well. Odd that cast iron should do that, I thought. Perhaps it just isn't designed to be used on an induction hob, it's probably fine on any other heat source.Cleaning was the same as any other cast iron pan (can be a bit of a awkward), no different problems were experienced (unless you forget and get hold of the handle without thinking. But I only did that once)

I make pancakes all the time. I am very glad that I retired my previous pan for this one. Just right for my family, easy to handle not too heavy and heat distribution makes really lovely crepes.

I bought this 2 years back and still it looks fresh. I seasoned it at before my first use (Just in case). But it does the job, I would definitely recommend for the given price.
