Platinum Tools12515C Tele-Titan XG Modular Plug Crimp Tool

I own a platinum tools crimper that I’ve had for 6-7 years and it’s worked great on cat5 & Cat6 cables I’ve terminated over the years. However, every time i tried to terminate my new cat6a cable I’d get a cable short error on my cable tester and i couldn’t figure out why bc it was pinned out correctly and i saw no issues with the cable so i was starting to think that the spool i got from monoprice was bad. I decided to test the cable by bypassing the older crimper and punched down the ends of a short cat6a cable to keystone jacks and plugged two store bought cables into the keystones and connected those to the cable tester and it passed with no errors. Based on that the issues seemed to lie with the crimper i was using and not the cable spool so I googled some cat6a specific crimpers and the tele-titan had the best reviews so i got it. First cable i terminated was good and the rest have all been money. I’m guessing bc this cable is 23awg and as such slightly thicker than cat5e and cat6 and the old crimper couldn’t handle the additional girth but the tele-titan handles it like a champ. Good quality, works as expected. Requires very little effort to fully close the tool, unlike other CAT5/6 crimp tools!Drawback is that you can only use Platinum Tools CAT6 connectors with it, but they seem to be quality connectors... I'm using their CAT6/6A shielded connector for HD BaseT video work and they are working as good as the Sentinel brand connectors I've used for years.

This gets the job done. I terminated a house full of 10G cat7...with 2 connections actually using 10G speeds! hah Anyway, this does what it needs to. If you know what you're using it for, you won't be disappointed.

I am reviewing the Platinum Tools 12515C Tele-Titan XG Modular Plug Crimp Tool.I use this crimper on Cat6a shielded connectors because unlike other connectors the cat6a does not have that piece of plastic that is wedged against the jacket because the jacket is just too thick. So this crimper will not crush indent the plastic, it's missing that piece. It only crimps. My problem with this is that it damages the clip so that it is somewhat flattened. For what this costs I should not have that problem. My ideal EZ crimper although not for cat6a never gave me a problem.

Great Product and does exactly what is says. Helped me crimp my CAT6A, STP, 23AWG, Solid Bare Copper, PVC, 1000ft, White, Bulk Ethernet Cable. Other crimpers failed - but this is a great specific CAT6A crimper that works great! Highly recommend this tool. Get it.

Works pretty good. The built-in wire stripper did not fit the .34" diameter Cat6a wire. The crimping worked very good. The lock mechanism is actually pretty decent and shouldn't accidentally open.

I use this on Shielded Cat 6 ends and it works great!!

It's a very nice tool and gets the job done!

The tool is all around great. It has a cut out for stripping the cable which is convenient and when crimping, it is totally effortless. Other crimping tools for regular RJ45s require me to push down hard. This one almost feels like its doing nothing since it is so easy. Very compact, fits very well in my tool kit. Of course it allows terminating cat6a and it does not crush the jacket. Time for super fast 10G networking!

Great crimper- small size, light squeeze and a solid connection every time. By far the best crimper design I've used.
