Making cars hands free is fairly old hat but bringing Alexa to the car takes it to a whole new level. You get the familiarity of the Alexa platform with all the usual skills. It can be a bit tricky at first to pitch your voice just right. She answers with an audible note - a useful feature that is not a bad idea for the echos also.My commute to the station is just long enough to listen to my flash briefing. I have a drive in to the alps at the weekend and am looking forward to barracking Alexa with "how far is it to Calais" every half hour.All in all a good buy. I wonder if you can add car specific skills? For example"You are 30 minutes from home, would you like to turn on the heating"etc..Who knows what the future holds. In the meantime, if you have made extensive use of Alexa you will enjoy this addition to your car for very little money in the overall picture of things.RECOMMENDED

I have a galaxy s9 and an iPhone I have tried this out with. When connected to my s9 it's like the voice recognition hears itself and cancels everything, this means I can't connect to the car and have music function ect. It also decided to suddenly stop working with my S9 and now all Alexa says is 'try back in a few minutes' , it's said that for 2 days now.. When connected to my iPhone it worked but is very slow and doesn't integrate with car system well, has issues when the screen was closed and the app not open. Do yourself a favour and just wait for the Amazon version...contacted customer services who basically said..turn it off and on..Then replace it, like I don't have anything better to do with my day than to spend time returning things that should work in the first place

I bought the Roav VIVA as soon as I realised it was available in the UK. Sadly unlike many of Ankers other products I have simply not got along with it, and while it mostly worked, there were some serious issues that ruined the experience for me, I hope Anker develop this product further as I feel that while it might be more of a concept, I think that it could lead to a fabulous product.The problems I experienced were:- Tight fit in my car (Skoda Superb 2013), It certainly fit into the cigarette lighter socket, but It was tight to get in and out.- When getting back into the car I had to take the Roav out and put it back in. In my car the power stays on for the socket when engine is off, when I turned the key to start the ignition though it turns off the power to the cigarette lighter momentarily and this seemed to confuse the Roav it would stop glowing blue and Alexa would not respond at all.- Use wise, Alexa could NOT hear me at all as soon as there was any noise in the car, I liked that you could press the button on the device to get her to listen BUT without this you had to turn down the radio and get everyone to be quiet, this also meant other people in the car couldn't ask Alexa for music which was a pity.With regards build quality and functionality in general I was very happy with this unit, but it didn't work quite as you would expect Alexa in a car sadly. I very much look forward to the Roav VIVA 2.

I absolutely love this item and so glad that I found it.I'm forever changing music album etc while driving and this makes it 10x easier. Works absolutely flawlesslyBrilliant too if you have kids they can pick song after song without any manual searching on your phone or cars media screen.The only downside is that spotify isn't supported which is just the norm as spotify is not supported on any alexa enabled devices out with the Echo range.Now that I have this I cannot live without it 👌🏻

Problems when using the iPhone6 away from the vehicle. I’m Running IOS 12.0.1Installed device in vehicle today via a Bluetooth fm transmitter in my other charger car socket. All worked well.Problem started when I was in my home & nowhere near my vehicle. I decided to get some mobile phone calls made. Every call I tried came back saying :SORRY IT HAS NOT BEEN POSSIBLE TO CONNECT YOUR CALL. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER. Please note that my wife was out in the vehicle upto 10 miles away. On her return I took the device out of the car, then my phone worked as normal. Is there any solution available to fix this problem. Otherwise I was very very impressed. Awaiting any help possible. Thank you 🙏UPDATED 26.10.18 Brilliant after sales care. This company make the problem theirs to try and solve/ investigate and sort out for the customer. My item was not suitable for my vehicle due to not having an integrated Bluetooth in my factory fitted car stereo (my opinion). I finish this review by stating never have I been looked after by a company so well when a problem has been encountered. Certainly happy to buy more products knowing the products are of highest quality and with brilliant customer care. I’ve added another star ⭐️ for the back up provided. Thank you.
