The G Ganen adjustable folding ukulele stand is fairly inexpensive compare to the other stands. I was a little weary about ordering this because it is made of plastic components instead of wood or metal like the other stands. But I took a chance and order it. The stand came in a small box and unfolded easily, to my surprise my ukulele fits nicely without any wobble, the soft cushions on the stands held my ukulele in place.

Yes, I included mandolin because I regularly use one for mine when I am doing a jam. A mandolin pretty much maxes out the capacity of the stand, but it works and is so easy to travel with because of the small fold up size.

This is perfect for my baritone ukulele that I bought it for, but would also work for my mandolin and even a child-sized guitar, though probably less stable in less than ideal conditions because of the size of the guitar.I love that it is small enough that I can fold it up and put it in the zippered pouch on my uke bag, so when I take the ukulele with me I will also have the stand right there. I've taken my uke on the airline 3 or 4 times and will again this summer, so having a stand that was small enough for the bag was a big motivator for me to choose this one. I don't know how this one compares to others in how it holds the instruments, but it does great for me on the level surfaces where I've stood it.

I like the fact that it folds up quite small - you can carry it in your back pocket.

When I'm teaching, I switch from using the violin to accompanying my students on the piano. This little stand holds my violin safely while I'm playing accompaniments. It has pads to protect the instrument from scratches, and is balanced well to hold the violin up. I love that it folds up into a compact little shape that fits in my music bag.
