This thermometer has shamed all my other "instant read" thermometers and banished them to the back of the junk drawer. It truly gets a steady reading in less than a second, and is surprisingly handy stuck to the side of my fridge. This is the one tool that has allowed me to upgrade my outdoor grilling, as I can now check internal temperatures while the meat is still on the grill, and at the same time minimize the time my grill lid is open, and I get to retain my arm hairs in the process. The best, sunply out. Fast, accurate, easy, portable and water proof. I've gone through various POS thermos for my grill station, primarily thermo pro brand. I've ran through four different types this year all dying to various common kitchen occurrences (especially water.) this thermo maven has been dropped in the full sink, no issue, dropped into the grille, no issue, dropped into the floor, no issue. Used for meat, candying sugar, liquids, no issue. The best part is it turns off by itself and back on when picked up even if left open AND reads temp in under a second. I have only had ONE steak sent back, because the person ordered medium rare and sent it back because it was "bloody and now they can't eat at all"... YEAH OKAY.

This thermometer works quickly and accurate, and is very easy to use. It has a magnet on the back of it, so we store it on the back of our stove. When the battery died, it was very easy to change, and continues to work well.

We had another thermometer, but not only used coin batteries, but it drained them even when not in use. So I looked for something with regular batteries and there were many options, but this was the only one with a reasonable price that was also NIST certified for accuracy, so decided to give it a try. I did not find what is the difference between this model F1 and the F1 Pro, so I got the F1, and I'm very happy I did, it has been working flawlessly, it's fast and I don't have to worry if my kids want to wash it, it has been washed many times by them and it has definitively survived it. I like also that has a magnet on the back so I can stick it right next to the grill or oven. In short, great thermometer!

It's as good as I hoped it would be. Really does measure within 0.5 seconds, waterproof for easy cleaning, auto turn on and off, even if you leave it open and sitting on the table, it will shut off after some time. Maybe the most surprising thing is that the lifetime warranty is as good as they say it is. The plastic battery cover broke around the screw hole, and they sent me a replacement in a couple of days. A very nice surprise and something that makes me want to buy other things from this company
