Light weight with a good run time
Haven't had any issues with power, the 24v is more that adequate to sustain the trimmer for medium - large sized yards. We sit on an acre which is fenced and I do that plus the house and some trees and have never had a full charged battery even get close to showing signs of fatigue. Very light weight and should be easy enough for any adult who is thinking of tackling yardwork to handle regardless of age. It's also an improvement over the bump to release type of string trimmers, this one you pulse on/off and the line extends. good stuff

Does it good job.
Purchased and return two other greenworks trimmer with duel string head. Issue with them are inconsistent and jamming of the string. Finally bought one with the single string head. It's not as powerful as the duel strings model but it gets the job done.

Do not buy this without battery
Do not buy. Cannot find the battery anywhere. It apparently does not use the same 24v battery used in the rest of the Greenworks product line. Customer service is a dead end via phone or Email. The first one would run for two seconds then had to restart. I assumed tool was defective. No response from Greenworks. Returned it and second one did the same thing. Finally found a review elsewhere suggesting it used a different battery than indicated and it is unavailable. I have their hedge trimmer 24v and it is good, but that Greenworks 24v battery does not work with this trimmer despite suggestions that it does. Fits fine and looks right, but it is not.

The best trimmer ever!
This trimmer is lightweight, easy to start and manage and maneuverable for the tightest spot trims. This is my 3rd trimmer and will be my last! The battery doesn’t come with this option but it’s readily available and fairly priced...and it lasts long enough for all the trimming on a full acre. Definitely recommend this trimmer!

The string breaks early and often
THE GOOD: This machine works well and the battery holds a charge for a really long time.THE BAD: It would be a pleasure to use for light to medium weed-whipping...but the blasted sting breaks a lot. Could just be the string sold with the product is sub-par. I will try others. I can see where getting a stronger model of the Greenworks String Trimmer might be a happier purchase.

Very Pleased
Extremely pleased with this unit. I don't suppose it is as powerful as my old 2 cycle gasoline powered unit but it doesn't take much force to cut blades of grass along the edge of a flower bed. The fact that is about 1/5 the weight of the old gas powered unit enables me to guide it better, finish the job more quickly and do trimming more often. About a month earlier, I purchased a GreenWorks rechargeable electric chain saw. Batteries are interchangeable. All I had to buy was this tool sans battery. A good deal for $29.

Does not fit together exceptionally well.

WARNING! DON'T GET THIS TRIMMER WITHOUT A BATTERY!
I got this trimmer without the battery since I already have a Greenworks chainsaw. Like a couple of other reviews were also saying, it only ran for about 10 seconds then stopped, over and over again. I returned the trimmer and got a second one thinking that there might have been a manufacturing flaw, maybe a bad connection. The exact same thing happened. I called the Greenworks helpline and was able to talk to an agent right away. She asked me for the trimmer's and the chainsaw's serial numbers (which also have a date in them), and sure enough, the trimmer I bought just now was manufactured in 2016. The newer chainsaw battery from last year didn't work with this older line of trimmers any more. So Amazon keeps selling these old trimmers that don't work with the newer batteries. Obviously some people have gotten trimmers that are newer than these two since there were only two other complaints. The ones I got were obviously both from the older stock. There will be no way of telling until you get it, try it out, and see the serial number. SO DON'T GET THIS TRIMMER WITHOUT A BATTERY!
