Simple and do-able way to find courage
Loved the book. The concept is so simple and do-able it blew my mind away. It's a true perceptive view of how an average person behaves: kudos to Mel Robbins ... for her great book. Heard her TED Talk that started this: she has a great presence ... and a powerful tool to offer us. On page 47, Mel Ribbons writes: "Knowing what you need to do to improve your life takes wisdom. Pushing yourself to do it take courage. #5SecondRule". The 5-second rule is the answer to "Pushing yourself to do it take courage". Yes, that's very true. A tool to help the reader with the first part: "Knowing what you need to do to improve your life takes wisdom" can be found thru answering the Quiz on beyondwealthsite.wordpress.com which deals with 7 Areas which you need to Balance. You know this by the time you buy it
I haven't heard her talks till now. But if you read the reviews of this book, it is likely that you know what this book is about. I kind of knew. I was skeptical about whether to put the money on It as I understood it in principle. In fact, I also tried it out and the results were amazing. So went ahead with the purchase more of gratitude and also about knowing it more.

The 5 Seconds Rule - Good Tool
The author mentions a crucial and impactful tool for enhancing our lives, citing compelling examples and real-life experiences from individuals on social media who have successfully applied this tool. "The 5 Second Rule" is undoubtedly impressive, but rated 3 stars concepts with varied examples and scenarios makes it tedious; the content could have been conveyed more concisely.

This is a powerful tool which works at the fundamental level to enable action and achieve desired result
A wonderful and well written book. Simple and relevant. One can apply the 5 Seconds rule instantly across many areas. The best aspect of this book is, not only well written but it’s based on the author’s own life story and many reader’s story who have applied this rule and tremendously benefited. No further validation or proof is required as it’s already proven. I have already started putting this to practice and I can see how it’s already changing results for me. Thanks to Mel for this book.

A VERY RELATABLE BOOK
Mel Robbins tells us that our brain has a mere 5 second window to make a decision. Counting backwards from 5 and hitting the GO button before or immediately after the count of 1 in our minds can help us achieve whatever we want to. Stop procrastinating or dilly-dallying because once the moment is lost, the opportunity rarely comes back. Its ACTION that matters, not the THINKING. These are home truths we usually tend to deny ourselves in our daily lives. Small victories everyday lead to big ones in our attitude and behaviour. Mel strongly feels the #54321 rule can help us achieve this if pursued religiously. Written in simple, lucid style. I recommend this book as well as its preaching.

Powerful Concept, Slightly Repetitive Delivery
I picked up The 5 Second Rule: Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage by Mel Robbins expecting another generic self-help book, but it turned out to be surprisingly practical and easy to apply right away. The core idea is simple: when you feel the instinct to act on something positive—whether it’s getting out of bed, speaking up, or making a tough decision—you count down “5-4-3-2-1” and physically move before your brain talks you out of it. It sounds almost too basic, but that’s what makes it effective. Robbins does a good job explaining how hesitation and overthinking can keep you stuck, and how this rule interrupts that pattern. What stood out most was how actionable the book is. Instead of overwhelming you with theory, it focuses on small, everyday moments where you can build confidence through action. I found it especially helpful for procrastination and pushing through low motivation days. That said, parts of the book feel repetitive, and the concept could probably be explained in fewer pages. A lot of the content reinforces the same idea with different examples. If you’re someone who prefers deeper psychological analysis, this might feel a bit surface-level. 5 second rule are hours of saving
The book is actually an eye opener and of one really has the concentration to stop and count done it is actually saving time, pain and suffering in many occasion where someone would like to burst out. Saving time also in reflecting and acting immediately where necessary. It is a great book and Mel Robbins is an example how one can begin every day to become a better version of oneself.
