My first use of Sparknotes was enjoyable and educational
The first time I read "Pride and Prejudice," I frankly thought it was a terribly dull book; I struggled just to get through ten pages, I was so bored. But then the "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" movie came out, and I decided to give the book a 2nd look. This time, however, I would consult a guide first.I know CliffsNotes pretty much have the monopoly in study guides, but I wanted to try out the competition. After researching Sparknotes, I decided to try them out with "Pride and Prejudice."I had never used Sparknotes but I was quite happy with this volume. I wasn't reading "Pride and Prejudice" for a class; I just wanted a better grasp of the plot. I found the summaries excellent. The author bio and the character analyses greatly increased my appreciation. I even went through the quizzes.I am happy to report that thanks to Sparknotes, my 2nd read of "Pride and Prejudice" was light-years more enjoyable than the 1st.Oh, yes...I never got around to seeing the movie... :)

Two Stars
Read book as part of book club selection. Thought book was dry, uninteresting and undeserving of it's classic reputation.
