So I thought why not have the laptop aerial closer to my modem and leave the laptop where it was. Using the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 USB 3.0 Adapter (A9000) ā€“ BE6500 I got 5 times the speed. From 200 Gbps to 1.1 Gbps. Your results will depend on your modems internet speed. Remember after your extension cable increases past 10 feet you must have a power source. The Nighthawk cable is around 3 feet long. I plugged a 10 Foot USB Extension Cable into a Powered USB Hub 3.0 USB Splitter and the Nighthawk into the powered USB Hub, this placed the aerial 13 feet from my laptop. Disable the computer's built-in WiFi when using this adapter for best results. This may not be the easiest setup but the results can be worth it.
