It checks out.
Bought this to go with my dive watch. I've read on a couple of posts here that it didn't work at all, right out of the package. So, when I received it a couple of hours ago, I immediately put it in the fridge for an hour, then the freezer for an hour. It worked. It wasn't digital accurate but close enough to 42F and 3F for my satisfaction. It will pick up your body heat. For me, this isn't much of a problem as it'll be outside of a wetsuit or mounted on my console. The only drawback is that the face isn't recessed and will undoubtedly become scratched or damaged with use.

I like it but it's not accurate while wearing on my wirstband.
It stays roughly at 80 degrees when I'm wearing on my wristband. No doubt to my body heat being conducted to it through the plastic touching my skin. I've not tested it to see if it's accurate when I'm not wearing it. Either way, I like it for no other reason than a cool decorative piece.

Not Accurate on Watch Bands
My thermometer arrived today. Although I don't intend to keep it attached to my watchband, I put it there initially to try it out. Within minutes, I realized that my body heat affects the reading. So, even though it is advertised as ideal for watchbands, I disagree. After removing it from my watchband, though, I am getting accurate temperature readings. I purchased this thermometer to hang on my backpack for use while backpacking. Initially, it appears to be perfect in this configuration. It's less than 1" in diameter, and about 1/2" thick. It weighs only 4 grams (0.1 oz), and provides a reasonably accurate temperature (when not touching my body). I think it's going to be perfect for backpacking!

Wrist temperature gauge. Not accurate while on wrist. Almost 10 degrees off! Looks good on wrist.
Temperature at a glance. I have it on my NATO watchband. Perfect!

Great on the go Thermometer with one noteworthy flaw.
It is a great on the go thermometer that is easy to read and, relatively, accurate. As others have noted, it does pick up body heat on watch band. Not a big surprise considering what it is. Off watch band, it has similar accuracy as the general use thermometers I picked up from my local hardware store. I took off a star because the degree markers don't have luminescence (glow in the dark) so night time use is questionable.
