Q: Can I use a sponge to apply this to my sofa?

I would use a brush the sponge would absorb to much of the finisher

Q: Can you use with leather dye?

I tried it with angelous leather dye Alcohol based. Product looked good till I tried to clean it. With alchole, completely failed. Ruined hours worth of work.

Q: Is this product water proof? Would this appropiate for leather boots?

After letting it dry for a full 24 hours water beaded right off. Now I wouldn’t go submerging what ever you are painting, but the rain did bead off nicely with no water damage. Hope this helps you.
