Not Ready For The Market Yet --
Sorry, but this product is clearly not ready for the market. I really wanted it to work for me, as I need a compact, wireless solution for recording in the field. This doesn't do the minimal job. I attempted to record a concert this evening under the most ideal conditions. The resulting recording has constant dropouts, rendering it useless. The software is even worse. It does not work as described. Before I can make a second recording, I have to uninstall and reinstall the software. It will then record once, but I have to go through the procedure again before the next recording. Chalk it up to experience, but it's expensive chalk. Back to wired mics until somebody gets this right. The customer service people have tried their best to help, but the mere fact that they have a list of things to try to overcome the problems tells you they have read the reviews and heard from customers who are having these issues with the product. I'm using this on a Samsung Note 8. The company contacted me and asked me to edit my review to include that information. In my entire history on Amazon, I've never before been asked to edit a review.UPDATE #1 -- The web site for this product now says that it works for all Androids EXCEPT SAMSUNG. Might have been nice to know that before I ordered. They tell me there will be an update, so I'll report back on that. Meanwhile, I'm experimenting with Apple devices. When you record on an iphone, you need to know that there will only be a Hooke Audio folder in photos IF you record video. If you are recording audio only, you pretty much can only find your file in the app itself. The box says that they have recording filters. Not really. The filters are applied post-recording. When recording all you can control is the volume. I'm going to make another field test using an iphone to see if the dropout problem persists. So far, my impression is that this is a pretty good product if you are only making iphone videos. I already have numerous high quality wired mics for use with other recorders, so don't see much value to the fact that I can plug it into my varied recorders. Will report back once there's a workable Android app.UPDATE #2As promised, I took this system into the field and tried to record one of my concerts using an iphone. Despite making sure conditions for wireless were ideal, there were constant drop outs, making the recording useless. As you can see from reviews here and elsewhere, I am not the only one to have this experience. I use wireless mics for performance all the time, and have used them to record to a board without incident over the years. I had really hoped to be able to use this technology for simpler recording in rehearsals etc., but this product just does not do the job. I'll try again when the Android app is updated. The iPhone app has done no better for me than the failed Android with Samsung.

My Hooke Verse Headphones Are Awesome and My Friends Are Jealous
The media could not be loaded. I'm a hardware engineer and tech writer, and I see a lot of cool stuff in my travels. Hooke Audio's Hooke Verse was one of the most amazing tech gadgets I stumbled upon in 2018 and have been itching to buy a pair ever since! (Seriously, it was just a string of expletives when I was trying it out for the first time. Mind blowing.)Also, I finally upgraded to an iPhone that doesn't have a headphone jack, so if I was going to blow a bunch of cash on wireless headphones anyways, might as well get some with 3D audio recording capability. Or at least that's what I told myself so that I could feel this was also a prudent decision and not just a fun splurge. When you watch the sample video I uploaded (or any Hooke Verse recording), ***Listen with your headphones in!*** It’s key to get the full experience. By the way, did you catch the mistake I made in the video? See the 3rd "notes on use" below. Selfie mode purposefully transposes audio and I didn't know that yet. It was one of my first recordings! These headphones give you more than just stereo audio — my SKULL has become part of the recording device blocking higher frequencies from certain angles and giving YOU, the listener, information about sounds’ locations your brain can interpret.WOAHMy friends are super jealous, which is probably the most important thing you need to know when deciding whether to purchase these. I'm really looking forward to adding 3D audio to more of the videos I publish for the tech journal I write for, and also in the smaller-scale, more-frequent content I put out for my own engineering company. This is a unique tool for bringing your viewers/listeners closer to you -- as if they're there with you while you're recording! Love it.NOTES ON USE (aka mistakes I made):1. Read the Instructions!I made a mistake when first playing with this thing -- don't think you're more clever than the instructions. It says to hold the button until it rapidly flashes red to pair the Verse on Bluetooth. I think I pressed it momentarily and then the light shone blue instead of red. I thought maybe the LEDs had changed since the original instructions were written and now they were blue. NOPE. So I spent a while continuing trying to pair it unsuccessfully. When I fully read the instructions, I saw there were indeed at least 2 LED colors being used (actually at least 3 -- it looks yellow while charging)... so I held the button down longer until it turned from blue to flashing red. And voila! Paired right away. I felt a bit Durpy. Don't be a durp. Read the instructions even though you are really excited to start playing with them.2. Play with mic gain!Luckily, I had demoed these things at a tech event, so I knew what they were supposed to sound like. When I played a recording I made on my own pair for the first time, it was much quieter and not as impressive as I remembered. Then I realized you can play with the mic gain. After I cranked that up for each ear, it was just as amazing as I recalled. So, if you're a bit underwhelmed at first, be sure to mess with the mic gain! (It's not something we're used to being able to play with on a smart phone . . . but putting those tools in our hands was one of the main motivations of the CEO to build this thing!)3. iPhone Selfie Mode Transposes AudioWhen I was first playing around with recording and I didn't know the audio switches right and left automatically when recorded from the front-facing iPhone camera. You might notice in the video, I uploaded, I incorrectly say the flutes should be heard more from your right side, but you actually feel them to your left. I I thought for the longest time I was doing something wrong! But nope, that's done on its own. That way, the camera view still matches up with the direction the viewer would be hearing things from.P.S. this was totally NOT sponsored. I used my own money dollars to buy the Verse.

Bluetooth results will vary
I used them once at the gym and once at home for recording. I use an iPhone SE and the Bluetooth is spotty at best. On the other hand they work well with the direct connection via cable to my video camera so belive me they do have a good future ahead of them. With bluetooth i was never able to listen to a full song or make a full recording with out the sound dropping out. that is why only 3 stars. The packaging was great and and it comes with lots of handy accessories. I only plan to use them with direct connection from this point on. I am very impressed with how well it recorded when it was working. Very Very cool concept.
