Comfortable and fit perfectly.

I would not recommend working out in these, they will likely get damaged. Running should be ok, but don't use these as running shoes, because they aren't really durable. I use them as casual shoes, just walking. They are very comfortable and the insoles come out if you want to put some Dr. Scholls in them, just cut the new insole into the shape of the original insole that came with the shoe. Update: I've been wearing them, running and walking every day in them for the past month and a half. They hold up very well. Nothing has happened to them, they just got dirty, so I mixed dishwashing detergent in water and scrubbed the sole and outside of the shoe. They still look pretty new, even after falling, stepping in mud, taking sharp steps, etc. For the price, they're very decent shoes and I'd recommend them.

I guess one has to complain about something here! The shoe strings are a bit too short at 46". They will fit if you don't use the last hole on each side. You will need to look for 54" shoe strings if you want to use the holes as designed. These sneakers also run a bit on the small size. I usually fit comfortably in 7.5 Nikes, but with the New Balances, I need to be in wide. The wide label suffix is "2E". My old pair of New Balance cross trainer shoes were "4E" which is extra-wide (in other words, they were 7.5 4E - you will find that under the shoes' tongues). The 4Es are just a few mm wider than the 2Es and I figured correctly that they wouldn't make much of a difference. These arrived yesterday and I wore them for a few hours then and all day today and I would say that they don't require much more breaking in. Speaking just for myself here, I think they're good enough to order a second pair.

I've been through several pairs of New Balance shoes, relegating them to gym duty as the get too scruffy. I've gotten different styles over the years as older models were replace but the selection criteria remained the same -- they shouldn't look too weird. so I'd go for muted colors. These are a great option, looking like black dress shoes while providing the NB comfort for walking.

I wanted to wait for a while before I did a review on these shoes. It has been about a year, and I am very pleased with them. I don't walk as much as I used to, about a half mile, to a mile a day, sometimes more. These have held up very well so far. I purchased another pair a few months back, but have not needed to take them out of the box yet. I wear a 12 4E. I have always had trouble finding shoes that were wide enough, and I have bunions that can be very painful at times. These help a lot, and for $50 bucks, you can't go wrong.

Comfortable, good traction and reasonable price

I've worn NB from the time I was 10 into my 30s, but something seems to have changed with their manufacturing. I used to be able to get my size (14 2E) in any style or color, but now it seems the only thing they have for anything larger than average is in black, gray, or white. So boring. I first got these in a size 14 2E and they felt too tight in the sides like a normal width. Returned and got the 4E and it feels like the same width in the middle with a much wider toe section. I don't think I can break them in enough to make the fit comfortable. If the width was a bit more uniform from heel to toe they would be perfect for me. I may just have to switch brands after all these years.

It is moderately soft on the feet and hard enough for standing or moving around. The size is reasonably roomy. The clean white leather exterior provides plenty of white as long as you don't adventure too rough. This is a review after using it for about 4 months.
