I needed a coffee maker for camping. I chose this one due to the 500w heater because I'll be powering it with a Jackery 500. It brewed a perfect cup of coffee in just a few minutes. Output was 425 watts, and my battery life was at 96% afterwards. Based on other reviews, I was worried about the strength of the coffee. However, I had no issues. I used 1 cup of water and 1 Melitta pod (medium roast), and it came out nice and dark. This is great for our camping needs.

I purchased this to use in my guest room for guests who might want a cup of coffee before venturing out for the day. I had used what I think is the exact same model in hotel rooms in the past so I figured it would be sturdy and not overly complicated.It arrives with no user manual, but the instructions are on the lid of the unit itself. I've used it a few times just to check it out -- I purchased the pods for it here on Amazon. I just use my coffee cup to measure the water, add it to the reservoir, add a pod in the tray, and push the button. Takes about 3-4 minutes, and voila! coffee. It's a decent brew -- not as good as fresh ground, but far better than instant.The only thing I found confusing is there's a red light on the front of the unit just under the "start" button that never comes on -- I assume it's supposed to signal either the unit "working" or "finished," but since it never comes on, I have no idea about its purpose. No big deal, really -- it seems to work just fine without it.I'm basically happy with it so far -- it won't get a huge amount of use so I'm hoping it will last awhile. I may purchase another one for my own bedroom so I can make a cup or two while I'm working on stuff.

Buyer beware, this item says it's a "pod" coffee maker which I think a lot of people just assume is a k-cup, but it's not. It's the flat, soft kind you find in motels. In fact, that's what this little thing is meant for which is why I'm giving it three stars, because the until itself is pretty cool. I ended up keeping it for later use but had to order another machine which was only about $10 more. I just wish the product description had been more explicit that by "pod" they mean something different than what most people are used to.

I discovered it in a hotel room. The room was cold so I used it for hot tea. Loved the speed. The Freshness of it. The convenience of it. Space saver for sure! My daughter ordered one to surprise me when I got home. Now I surprised her with one. If you are not a whole pot of coffee drinker, or you don't want a big machine on your counter, this is your answer! Can be used for tea, any kind of coffee, looking now for hot chocolate that I can use in it. I think the flat pods are so much more biodegradable as well as space savers.
