Quite possibly one of the nicest things I have ever purchased on Amazon - and I shop a lot here. It is beautifully made, and a lot of thought has been put into how it could very easily become a family heirloom down the road. The color is rich and warm, the leather is soft and succulent and feels good to the touch. The paper is intentionally a soft white that mirrors what you might expect to find in something aged - it is beautiful and will become a keepsake at the very least. To address negative comments head on: Yes - the leather does smell - but I did not find it overpowering - but instead, what should be expected from a quality leather item. There was no bleed-through of color from the leather at all, and with some gentle maneuvering of the leather cover, writing on the pages inside was quite simple. A beautiful gift that no doubt will be cherished.

Absolutely beautiful! I bought 2 as birthday gifts. One for a 13 year old one for a 25 year old. Both loved them equally. They're of great quality and perfectly made. Sooo soft! Love love love it!

This is *not* made in the USA, like some reviews say. It's handmade in India and the company's contact information is in the UK. I'm not sure why they have a small American flag on the package label. Maybe to indicate where the product is being sold? I'm guessing that's why some people thought it was made here. But it does say "made in India" on the left side of the label. I don't have a problem with that, but I was expecting made in USA because of some of the reviews. That's why I wanted to make that clear in my review (see photos). It's a beautiful journal, which I can see lasting forever with care. Very high-quality leather. The front is stamp embossed, rather than having a different leather glued onto it. I chose this one over their tree-of-life journal because it seems that one has leather glued to it for the design, rather than it actually being stamp embossed. I'm not sure how the (non-refillable) pages will hold up to writing with different mediums. I'm going to be using it as a keepsake sticker album. You can definitely tell it's a tree-free material. The journals with lined paper are different. They are made with parchment paper. I thought I read a review that complained of a strange smell, but I didn't have that problem. It just smells like leather to me. Maybe the plastic it's shipped in is causing a slight smell to very sensitive people? I can see why there would be a chemical smell to a glue-embossed journal, of course. I would personally gift this particular one to anyone without hesitation.

I'VE ALSO WROTE IN THE BACK SECTION WHERE I AM DIVIDING OUT PAGE GROUPS ( PRAYER PAGE, BOOKS READ, GOSLS PAGE ETC..) AND WRITING WAS NOT AS DIFFICULT AS REVIEWS MADE IT IUT TO BE. . IN FACT, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE. BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT!!! CAN'T WAIT TO START DAILY JOURNALING!!!

This makes my second purchase of a journal from Moonster. The first purchase was made several years ago and thisone was made to fulfill a birthday want. The product is amazing. I am so in love and I get comments everywhere I go.

First off it was delivered super fast, less than two days and I had placed the order late in the day. Second, I love the look and feel of the leather, much softer than imagined. It has the look and feel of how I perceived an old world journal to look. The pages are well bound, and they are the perfect size for poetry or use as a diary. That’s going to be the hard part, figuring out the best use for this journal. I always hesitate to begin writing in them because I love the look of a clean page and want to keep it neat, but I also eventually love the worn in look of a journal or notebook well used. This already has that worn-in feel. Best get to work on filling the pages! Thank you for creating this lovely product!

This book is beautiful, the feel is very nice. Comes in a nice box. Great gift for anyone. Paper is nice and thick, appears to be able to hold up to all kinds of art and writing. It appears to be rather sturdy and durable, but only time will tell.
