Wonderful information that is well laid out and gives a pretty clear understanding of what the needs and behaviour of the the box turtle is and what to expect.

Not recommended for anyone with even the most rudimentary knowledge of box turtles or any kind of turtles. The book is written at an extremely elementary level with little detail beyond common knowledge. The font size is large, further reducing the amount of information contained on its pages. Treatment of every aspect of care, taxonomy, etc. is fleeting and almost uselessly generalized. The illustrations, such that they are, have little utility. The publication is overpriced compared to virtually all other alternatives that are readily available.

I really liked this book for the information on the care of box turtles. I have two that were rescued and they are doing well. I use this book as well as several others and several box turtle groups. I recommend this book to first time and older box turtle owners.

While I would never recommend anyone keep box turtles for pets - mine is a rescue - the book offers great information.
