It's a good antenna if you want to have options
This antenna is a great choice for wideband scanners. It has pretty decent receive performance on MF and HF for the size, compared to vertical wips, and excellent characteristics on VHF and UHF. It also has pretty low SWR in the 6m, 2m and 70m band (below 1.5). So if you want a compact, all-around option that doesn't require tuning, it's hard to go wrong with that.On the flip side, if you have plenty of roof of backyard space, and are only interested in transmitting or receiving on a specific band, there are cheaper and better-performing options to choose, with more better directional gain. This basic discone design is made by several manufacturers. Compared to some cheaper options, Sirio antennas are pretty high-quality, easy to put together, and it appears that they actually test their performance - so it beats a cheap knock-off without any QA.

Just a small amount of deburring needed.
For the price, it is well made should last a very long time. Being a retired radio technician a having installed and maintained professional equipment this is very close to commercial equipment. It could be used in a business environment. I was surprised at the measurements of return loss across the bands. So kudos to the manufacturer and enjoy this unit. It is easy to assemble. Even the bolts are stainless so they should not be an issue.

Best antenna I own
Great little antenna: the parts are really accurately machined, putting it together is super easy and it feels sturdy. Knocked it off the roof once and bent a couple of the driven rods a bit, bent them right back and it's good as new.Works well as a scanner antenna, but I also use it for talking on 2m/1.25m/70cm. I have another monopole antenna made specifically for 2m/70cm, and this one outperforms it.Discone antennas are resonant over a decade, so the actual range is 130-1300MHz. They add a whip antenna for the lower frequencies, but it doesn't work well at all and I'd recommend just leaving that part off, especially for transmitting.

Performance below about 70MHz is pretty poor.
Works decently. Unlike many other discones, the elements on this Sirio discone are actually hollow! It reduces weight, but also makes the elements more delicate. Performance below about 70MHz is pretty poor.

Glad I made the purchase
Not sure why there aren't many reviews on this antenna. This antenna is very well made. There are less expensive antennas which cover the same frequency bands but not as rugged.
