I love this knife. The quality is wonderful and the size is great. It is lightweight and feel good a holding it. It is very sharp and works great too. I would buy this again!

Great knife for the price. Good assisted open action.
This is a very good buy for the money. It is a nice smooth blade made from reasonably good steel. It comes fairly sharp but is easy to put a really keen edge on it. The size and blade type make it versatile for many jobs. Slicing open packages or anything where a smooth sharp blade works well. The assisted opening feature is especially nice. It is as good or better than much more expensive knives I own from Kershaw or CRKT and several others. One just needs to start it opening with the thumb stud and it snaps open nicely. It is very difficult to get the knife not to open completely once started. There is also a button on the side of the knife that will either lock the knife from accidental opening in your pocket and is also necessary to push down on it to allow the knife to close once opened. I have read some negative comments about the button and the fact it and the handle is made from plastic but I have had zero issues with mine. Look at other similar knives and you will fine the bulk of them using some form of plastic in the handle, it just depends on the quality. Some can be extremely tough. The handle fits nicely in the hand so I can have a good grip. Because of this knifes specs I use it for relatively light duty. That is what it was made for, light to medium duty. It was not designed to be used as a survival knife. Remember this knife costs under $17 and has a nice assisted opening system and decent blade on it. I don't know what more you can expect for the money.

A great knife and a great value.
I bought this knife to replace my primary knife I carry after I recently lost it in the field. I haven't owned this knife too long, but I do want to share my initial reactions. Pros: Tight and sturdy hinge - solid hinge while still allowing smooth movement; seems like it will hold up. Well designed thumb studs - ergonomic without being too big and snagging on your pocket. Lightweight - plastic sides covering steel frame. Sturdy spring steel pocket clip - removable if you don't like the clip. Great value - Gerber knives are not in the same league as their prices. Cons: Wasn't very sharp out of the box - Gerber's sharpen up nice and take an edge, so it wasn't a deal-breaker for me. The finger release is kind of hard to use - you can either use the thumb stud (which works awesome) or the finger release with your index finger, but unfortunately I find the finger release to be really hard to work. The button lock is kind of weird - it does exactly what it is supposed to do, but it takes some getting used to. The bottom line: This is a great knife to use as a daily carry. You might need to sharpen it up at first, but it seems tough as nails and should serve you well for a long time.

The handiest knife I've ever owned.
I bought one of these years ago when they were 20 bucks. I've still got it, but the spring is messed up..it's probably fixable, so I keep it in a drawer until someday... I replaced it immediatly with an identical knife, but it was almost 30 by then. I misplaced that one last year and the price was up to 50 bucks, but the identical sized model with a little sereated (sp?) Edge was 35, so I grabbed that one..it's great too, but I missed the regular blade, so i grabbed it at 40$ . It's a true one handed knife with a nice little spring assist. Makes a solid CLICK when opening. I use it for everything from slicing a piece of cheese or sharpening a pencil to skinning a deer. Fits perfect in my jeans pocket. The grip is solid , thin and feels great in the hand...I never notice it in my pocket, but I notice it immediately if it's not there..I don't leave home without it. I feel naked when I check it for air travel. Great little pocket knife .

low priced great knife
i used to have an older model of the fast draw and i loved it carried it everywhere with me. ive always looked at the new current models but the textured grips i couldnt find attractive. but i ordered it anyway. i love this knife the spring assist works great its a lil stiff to open but im sure its just because its new. i can feel it loosing up already. the textured grips work well with wet hands the lock and still be opened or closed pretty easily. also the blade comes pretty sharp. i honed mine pretty good it was simple to do and can easily shave off hair now. last week i put this knife threw some test. i tried banging the back of the blade to see if the lock would give out and it was fine i also did some carving with it and no blade damage what so ever. this knife is a great buy. yes its a gerber and yes it may not have that great reputation as some other brands but not one of my gerbers have let me down ever. i would highly recommend this knife for someone that wants to have a folder to carry or use for fishing or whatever they need it for. this is a quality knife and for the price it cant be beat. only downfall is when the knife is new. the spring is stiff and even the lock button feels tight but once it breaks in its all good
