Yes, the paper is a bit thin, but it's an exercise book. I did greatly appreciate and enjoy this book. My daughter was recommended the textbook by a tutor at college, and she let me know about it. Having read some feedback on Amazon, I chose the drawing workbook, rather than read the theory. Before Betty Foster's book, I took a long time to draw and needed to make a lot of corrections, which held up painting. It was good fun and challenging working on the exercises and there is a definite improvement in my drawing. I find I'm looking at things differently now: feeling less daunted and more excited.

This is a great reminder after a great course with an accredited teacher Anna Black here in the uk. This will be very useful indeed to "get back into" this method after a break.

this book is useful for those who think they can't draw... the book takes you through various strategies for developing skill and also a way of seeing that enables you to have a higher level of success

Excellent but stick with it.

I haven't read the previous editions but this one is truly a fantastic book for anyone wanting to know why they still draw like pre teens. It asks very interesting questions and then answers them with interesting exercises. Highly recommended for anyone trying to ignite a long lost passion. Highly Recommended .
