The Husband Project: 21 Days of Loving Your Man--on Purpose and with a Plan

It was a great book and I have my 21 days all planned hope I can repeat again next year!

Remember the quote about it being better to give than receive? How about the one that says the surest way to improve your mood is to do something nice for another person? Kathi puts those axioms to practice in The Husband Project. I believe wholeheartedly that in most marriages the wife has the power to make the union more solid. By her decisions and actions she can build up or tear down her man and in doing so either strengthen or weaken their family. I know from my own experience that once I started putting my marriage and my man first, our home life and sex life went from so/so to solidly fantastic.So, I was excited to learn about The Husband Project. I have not begun the project yet but have read the book through and am looking forward to following Kathi's specific plan for loving on my husband. Though there is a theme for every project she insists you make it your own by tailoring it to you husband and your life. For example in project 1 the wife is asked to make sure that when her husband gets home at the end of the work day that he gets time to decompress in whatever way helps him relax and be ready to enjoy being home. For some men that may be a snack and some X box time for others it could be a short time to lay down and not have to worry about any house-hold concerns. For mine it is a glass of wine and a book with me on the other end of the couch with the same. So, for this project I will buy him an Amazon gift card for his Kindle and hand it to him with his glass of wine and an appetizer when he takes his regular seat on the couch.Kathi's writing style is like chatting with a friend, she is fresh and funny and realistic. This is an easy fast fun read and if you follow her plan, and your husband is like most guys, you will see an improvement in intimacy and happiness in your home.

I received this book from my best friend and in the first chapter it talks about getting someone to do the 21 days with you so you can have accountability and make it a bigger possibility that you will finish the project. So, I asked a co-worker and my best friend and before I knew it I had 7 ladies who wanted to do the project together. I combined this book with bible study of what a biblical marriage looks like and all the ladies including myself have had great success with the projects in the book. We have met once a week to discuss our plans for the week and our stories from the week before and to have bible study. This book doesn't just want you to spoil your husband. It teaches you how to have a servants attitude towards your spouse and with your other relationships. It has helped me with honoring my marriage and my spouse in the way GOD intended for me. I don't mean to obey and do everything your spouse says either that is bologna but I do mean to treat your husband with respect and love that means you place him higher than you do your own wants and desires. You will see after spending 21 days loving on your husband in a way that honors GOD too, your spouse magically reciprocates your attitude and your behaviors. Do unto others is proven with this project. I would recommend to any woman who wants to have a marriage that images what the bible outlines.

You COULD use it as a planning book for ways to bless your husband, but for me and my sister, it proved to be essentially just an IDEA book (similar to decorating IDEA books) -- something to get our minds brainstorming what our husbands would like or not like. Even just for this, I feel I got my money's worth.It IS very flexible, not a rigid project at all. You basically make the COMMITMENT to put your husband back on your life's priority list, and the rest takes care of itself :-)'Useful content'-wise it's more of a long blog post, or a booklet, but the way it's broken up into Chapters fills it out to make a book with things like: specific prayers, scriptures, brief testimonials, etc. These were almost useless. If you skim those repetitious bits you could read it in an afternoon...**Another review said it wasn't overly religious. Well, IMHO: Yes, it is.! Moreover, it's overtly Christian, not simply religious. So know that going in. A non-religious wife could still benefit, don't get me wrong, but she might be annoyed at how Christian it is.Side Note: the resources/recipes section was nothing special...meat, potatoes, blah, blah, blah. You get the idea. We're vegetarian; so, again that part wasn't of much use.

This ebook has been of great value. It was used as part of a book club Bible study. Learned a great deal from the author, challenges and fun projects to improve marriage relationships.

I enjoyed reading this book as part of an online bible study group. It gave me a fresh outlook and attitude towards my husband abd my marriage. Is helping me to try to actively and practically show my love to my husband and surrendery own motived and attitudes to Jesus Christ

This book has been transformative for my marriage! Christian or not, this book helped me show love to my husband. Definitely recommend!
