I love this book!
As a practitioner of Wudang Sword I found this book very interesting. I do wonder if anyone out there has a video of the sword form itself...learning from text is challenging to say the least. I like the prep work info and the Immortal stories.

Pretty typical Taoist writing but interesting if your practice includes the sword.

or in reading accounts of deeply philosophically rooted sages will love this work
A really phenomenal piece of spiritual literature. Anyone who is interested in the metaphysical side of life, or in reading accounts of deeply philosophically rooted sages will love this work. The sword practice is just the tip of the iceberg as the author breaks down the accounts of human spiritual evolution when it reaches the highest possible levels. That of the immortals, and beyond. These were men who accomplished feats so unbelievable, many feel they never existed. Yet for some special people such as Dr. Baolin Wu, it would seem that these individuals were so deeply real and alive, that you couldn't possibly discount the sincerity felt within the text. if your willing to walk into the book with an open mind, you will walk out a different person; guaranteed!

A valuable book for hard to find wisdom and information!
Written in a style that reminds me of Blofeld, Dr. Baolin Wu tells stories about what it was growing up in the White Cloud Monastery but it all ties together with individual chapters on The Eight Immortals, which is stunning by the way for any of us that are out there looking for more information on them; as this has some of the great traditional stories I've yet to find or hear about else where! All these stories dovetail into the end where the whole practice of the sword form is described and drawn. There was a really interesting section about the making of the sword culture and alchemical aspects in china too that I liked a lot. Overall I really enjoyed this read, it was light and heavy yet consistently left me in good spirits. I enjoy books like this one!
